    Discussion about free banking.

Because banks "Borrow" your money, and give you 0.01% but when you want to "Borrow" money from the bank it's 19.9% if not more. That's how they make their money.

    Discussion about free banking.

Mods note - separated from this thread. https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/the-most-over-the-top-restrictions-introduced.206878/ Coming back to the cashless society that keeps on being talked about. I'm more for freedom of choice. After all, the easier you make it for people to buy things the...

    Caledonian Sleeper

It would seem this mornings northbound Fort William portion didn't go so well today due to a fatality. Thoughts are with everyone involved. It is nice however to see that sleeper wise, things are slowly getting back to normal.

Travelling during a storm on purpose, hoping to get money back (hypothetical)

I know for sure when travelling on the Caledonian Sleeper a delay would be most welcome if I don't have anywhere I need to be urgently, full refund a nice lie in, even better when heading north into the Highlands!

Severe overhead wire damage near York 02/12

1E13 (07:55 Inverness to London King's Cross) seems to be heading Northbound now. I wonder if that set will go to Newcastle and become 1W96?

New trains - could they have tinted windows?

GWR certainly have tinted windows on their HST sets (now 2+4's) and I've never had an issue with signal on them.

    Caledonian Sleeper

No report of the sleeper arriving into Inverness yet, I'm guessing it's still stuck somewhere between Carrbridge and Inverness unless anyone knows different?

    Caledonian Sleeper

Looks like it has just set off at 12:40.

    Caledonian Sleeper

Does anybody know if the sleeper set is still sat at Carrbridge or has it been set back to another location?

    Caledonian Sleeper

Well, it will certainly be the strike of a nighttime.. I'll get my coat on the way out <:D Seriously though, I hope conditions improve for the staff and passengers on this service. It seems at least once a week the service is heavily delayed. Looking at recent reviews on Trip Advisory and...

    Northern City Line disruption 19.07.19

This is the information on the national rail enquiries website at the moment. Can you tell me more about the incident? Old Street At 09:30 this morning Great Northern received reports from a train driver of a possible defect to the track at Old Street. An empty train was sent to investigate...

    Caledonian Sleeper

Silly question, but how long do crews need for their rest period?, I always thought it was 12 hours from sign off to sign on but that wouldn't work very well, especially on the Fort William run.

    Caledonian Sleeper

This was posted on twitter earlier on regarding the lighting in the seated coaches on the new trains. Is it more common than not that they are on full all night or do they actually dim them? People also complain about the AC being far too cold in this carriage throughout the night. Again is...

    Caledonian Sleeper

There were reports yesterday that the Southbound Inverness portion was short formed, so some passengers had to travel by bus to Edinburgh and meet the full train there.

Two trackworkers killed near Port Talbot in South Wales (03/07/19)

I add my thoughts there, what a terrible thing to happen. No one expects to not be able to go home. RIP :(

    Caledonian Sleeper

With the way that it's going i'm sure someone would be calling out "Bingo" every night! I like the idea of feedback cards though, even how you rated things on a 1 - 5 basis.

    Caledonian Sleeper

In addition, perhaps all passengers could each be given their very own individual "Bingo" style card that they can complete throughout the journey. This could include things such as the following :- *Air con too cold *Air con too hot *lights not working *lights on full at inappropriate time *No...

    Caledonian Sleeper

Silly question, but why do both bunks need to be made up, even when they know ahead of time that a 1st class ticket holder with single occupancy will be travelling in the room?
