    Bee Network Service/Route Discussion

If the wrong forum, then apologies. I just wondered if any routes still experience "grouping", as they seem to do in Ashton. Just came back on a 219 from town, and by Guide Bridge there were 3 of us in a row, along with a 4th running empty from town. I make that 30 mins worth of buses in 30...

Ive just been sent a picture of a GM atlantean on service 316, which i think ran from chorlton to stepping hill. This got me thinking, and i guess no one will have the full answer, but how many services have disappeared from manchesters roads in the past decade or so?

The 2 core routes between Ashton and Stalybridge are the 237 and 348 (there are other less direct). On a Sunday, each is an hourly service, why do they have to leave Ashton at exactly the same time? Hoping someone in the know could suggest a way to change this!

Can i ask a question to those in the know, is there any stipulations in contracts as to the exterior cleanliness of buses? I only ask as Ashton has only half heartedly washed theirs twice since the commencement of tranche 3, hardly a good advertisement for the bee network?

In Ashton, the opposite has happened. The 336/7 and 389, which over recent years were operated by First, Mct, First again and finally Diamond, all with single deckers. Now Metroline run all the routes with doubles, they really are not needed on these local routes.

The 39 ran up until 84 i think, when it was replaced by the so called express 34. The above picture took me back, Earlestown market, wow. If i remember rightly, there was also a short lived Bolton to Warrington via Newton express service, but the route number escapes me.

I quite agree. In Ashton, with the 216 and 219, for some reason the 1 is hardly readable till up close. Also, the rear display of the 347 simply displays Haughton, no mention of the word Green.

Surprised at the amount of B9s out today, have the scanias gone?

    Stagecoach Manchester discussion

Whilst this all good stuff, it would be wise to remember Stagecoach operates (d) more than Hyde Road depot. Here in Ashton, the final day so far has been run with buses that have not seen a wash since before xmas, and adorned with stickers to denote where they will be when i wake up tomorrow...

    Northern: The Great Unit Cascade

The Stalybridge to Vic shuttle has been a 158/153 combination all this week so far, welcome improvement from the usual 142's, but surely not the best use of a 158? Not complaining though!!
