I can't see the 317's lasting another 10 years. At least I hope they don't. The 315's are pretty solid machines, with a bit of TLC they'll easily do another 10 years work. The 317's are past their sell-by date now.

No 317/8's done. Yes, the 321's are temporary. It's to allow some more flexibility with the 317's as the 317/7's haven't exactly proved reliable since being returned to traffic.

No, not yet. Only the interiors are being done at Clacton. I'm not sure if the 317/6's will be repainted at Ilford after the 500's are done? I expect that'll be something for the next franchise by the time the 500's are completed.
