Advance tickets, but using trains for cross-London instead of the underground; and E-tickets

Done, but it comes up with "No itineraries found for search".

Advance tickets, but using trains for cross-London instead of the underground; and E-tickets

Thanks: I've put that in as a via point, but if London Bridge is selected as the second via point, it won't give the £13.30 advances.

Advance tickets, but using trains for cross-London instead of the underground; and E-tickets

Good morning all, My friend's son is autistic (and has a Disabled Persons Railcard) and plans to travel between Cambridge and Portsmouth Harbour on 16th September, at around midday, and returning on 21st at around 1300. He is unable to cope with the underground, so I've suggested he travels via...

London to Amersham - tube or train?

One thing in favour of the Met—it has air conditioning, so if the weather's warm...

Problems with trainline: "open return" fares only being valid for one day

I remember using an SOR between Luton and Earley (via Reading) in 1987 which was valid for return within three months. I can't recall the validity of the outward portion, but think both portions were valid for three months.

Any news on the EMR lounge at St Pancras re-opening?

Ticket issued with a "Senior Save Railcard"

Yes, indeed it does. I had expected something like "LACON" to be printed on the ticket. Why the description "Senior Save Railcard" when, in my case, I am not a senior citizen nor hold a senior railcard?

Ticket issued with a "Senior Save Railcard"

Hello all, I travelled this afternoon between Luton and St Albans, using my ENTCS Bus Pass to obtain a 50% reduction. On my tickets, it states "Adult Standard Class with Senior Save Railcard". I've never come across this particular railcard, and it doesn't seem to be advertised anywhere...

LT Country Bus Rallies at Hitchin and Sevenoaks this month—are they still going ahead?

Does anyone know if the LT Country Bus rallies at Hitchin & Stevenage this Sunday (6th) and Sevenoaks (13th) are still going ahead? The Classic Buses Events Diary, updated yesterday, still lists the former as being provisional, and has a link to a Facebook page, but I can't access it (presumably...

    Paper tickets vs E-tickets

I would feel happier to move from paper tickets to Smartcards if they were to work like Oyster, with the ability to set a railcard discount, and no requirement to have an online account or (smart)phone.

    Paper tickets vs E-tickets

Indeed: tracking for advertising purposes is what I'm particularly concerned with, rather than tracking by the authorities. I don't drive, so ANPR isn't an issue.

    Paper tickets vs E-tickets

I am one of the estimated 10% of the population that do not use or own a smartphone, and (by choice) have only the most basic of mobile phones that does not even have the ability to send or receive text messages. This is a decision I took back in 2008 when purchasing my (still current) mobile...

Luton to St Pancras via Finsbury Park

Good morning all, I shall be travelling this morning between Luton and St Pancras, and wish to break my return journey this afternoon at Finsbury Park for a few hours. Owing to engineering work this weekend, there is no direct service between Luton and St Pancras, so I shall be taking the rail...

Flexible Rail Season Tickets - 2/3 days per week to be introduced by June 2021

Well, if the £50 fare showing between Luton and London is indicative of the actual price, then that's very good value indeed!

Flexible Rail Season Tickets - 2/3 days per week to be introduced by June 2021

I take it that the £50.00 fare quoted is just a "placeholder", rather than the actual fare. For comparison, the 7-day season is £113.60, and the SDR £31.50.

Flexible Rail Season Tickets - 2/3 days per week to be introduced by June 2021

I see that BRFares is now showing a test fare of £50 for a season ticket between Luton and London Thameslink, coded "FL1 FOR TEST USE". The validity is stated as being "one journey to be made in 28 days"...

    Paper Timetables

Centrebus have issued a Luton area bus guide, dated 10th May, replacing the former booklet. This is a large single sheet folded guide, with timetables and maps. Unfortunately it is incomplete, excluding routes 44, 45, 88, and 230.

Bedforshire 50% discounted fares—available for EMR 1st class travel between Luton Airport Parkway and Bedford?

I see your point: I should have expressed it better. "Normal" is not a word that ought to be used when defining rules, as it is open to interpretation. This could have been avoided by stating that the discount is not valid for use with 1st class tickets. 1619308565 Off-Peak Day Single, Anytime...
