Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

If I were a betting man - id say it was Crofton that's the fault here. GC's 180's have their heavy maintenance at Heaton, where as HT's is at Crofton. What HT can do about it in reality is probably very little. It's almost worth them getting 4 HST's (though where from again, I don't know)...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

Looks like it made it to PBO 103L, and passengers transferred to LNER's 1N35.

Not made it to Holme Junction yet! LNER have just tweeted this! https://twitter.com/LNER/status/1080592874016858112 [Edit: Typo]

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

I know of at least one instance of this happening and the ombudsman finding in the favour of the customer. From my conversation with HT it seems that they are adamant that its the customers fault in these cases, and never that of the customer. In my view if there is one report of a problem like...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

Thanks for the response. If I think about my conversations that I've had directly with HT (LC) then I was aware that conversations were ongoing with Bombardier in October. From your response and the status of the 180's it looks like the commercial relationship with Bombardier is now rather...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

Yet another example of the poor management. 6 months of problems and now talks are underway. There should have been talks immediately and a full resolution by now.

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

This is the problem, HT dont seem to go more than a few days of good service before a new fault occurrs. It seems that HT too think this is acceptable. Todays example of the two minor faults is just typical if the years poor reliability. Its so bad that i now wont travel with them. Their...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

Hull Trains being given a hard time again on twitter as it looks like another unit is out of action. Its not the 4 car unit 109? as announcements are still showing this onin service. It seems that crofton are really struggling wirh their maintenance.

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

It is - and it's just left Doncaster 5L, here's hoping it's all working fine. With regard the negative comments about HT. It's entirely possible HT are working really hard in the background, and have had 10 weeks of rotten luck. But to the passenger the fact that there are still late...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

I Just checked for tomorrows service and the 7.27 KGX-HUL was the only cancellation. This was cancelled as I'd expected, but it looked promising that all was back and running again. But then a few minutes later, it's back to 2 diagram operation with the usual cancellations. If Crotons...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

You have a fair point there. If Its read without any prejudgment it's a cautioned yes, we expect to run the service, but might not. I guess the problem, as you highlight, is the appalling maintenance from Bombardier at Crofton. I just wish HT would take a more proactive approach to managing...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

Because we dont get any transparency from HT we just see repeated claims that things will be back to normal tomorrow. If there was more transparency we might know that these faults are unrelated. However the end result is that I wont travel with HT at the moment as i cant book a train with...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

Thats not the point, why announce that they expect things to back to normal and 6 days later they have failed to meet the expectation they set
  18. R

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

Im not so sure. If they had any degree of confidence in their service being back to normal as per announcements then they'd agree. Even if they did miss the target once a donation to charity would be no bad thing. If they ignore the offer as they did it shows they have no confidence in...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

It's my view that if properly a properly adjusted timetable was in place (that means cancelled trains are removed from all booking systems etc) then they'd be better off running a reliable service all be it reduced. I know however other's preference might be different to mine. I know plans for...

Hull Trains cancellations due to chronic shortage of available rolling stock

I thought they ran with 1 spare to cover for problems like that.? Todays diagram looks to be for 2 units only. If one unit is in long term repair, then running a 2 train diagram would make sense, untill all units are working as it allows for unepexted faults to be quickly covered .
