TPE Class 185s to be refreshed

Extending some sets to 4 cars was given the go-ahead at one point (platform lengths precluding doing them all), but these were cancelled and replaced by an order for 172s, which of course was cancelled too. All the while 185s has been diverted onto WCML services, which left the fleet, and...

    Through, non-stoppers at Sheffield

There's probably have been little demand for trains going through Midland non-stop, north-south ones would go via the Old Road, and from what I can gather cross-pennine charters/excursions normally went via the Woodhead route rather than the Midland, but as said above would normally have had a...

Storm Babet disruption - Saturday 21/10

I've not looked but with the levels of disruption I suspect they've been using different portions of the original schedules but with gaps where the flooding is. You can't do that with just one schedule, cancelling it here, reinstating it there, and creating extras with the same headcode would...

Curiously despite the line from Nottingham to Worksop being open there hasn't been a service on it.

Preserved locos/stock hired back to mainline use?

Western Champion did a variety of freight work for GBRf with varying degrees of success. Often put out in not exactly tip top condition it was renowned for causing chaos on the MML, usually in the Kibworth or Desborough areas when it failed or slipped to a stand on the Mountsorrel -...

Marston Vale line suspension over - FULL services start running 19/02/24

3 could be used to give a certain amount of priority, but as is said, it's hardly a busy line, and probably more important to get the ECSs in and out of Bedford promptly anyway. Could I suppose be useful if there's a lot of staff on board. Just another curiosity I guess.

    Hornby 2024 range

I'm still a bit surprised that nobody's yet done a 185 given their number and geographical spread, as well as age now. Admittedly the number of potential liveries is limited, but I'd have thought that would be outweighed by their usefulness to many modellers.

Marston Vale line suspension over - FULL services start running 19/02/24

I know they're running with the regular headcodes but if they're not in service they should be changed to a 5 or 3, rather than just running unadvertised, which suggests passengers on board, even if just dignitaries or whatever. It's simple enough to do, one way or another.
