    Most hated Loco/Unit

Class 170s and all the similar types. they break down at every opportunity, the toilets are always blocked, some of them are never cleaned, the seats are uncomfortable.. the only good thing they've got going for them is you can release the doors halfway up the train.

Thetrainline surcharges & how to avoid them

thing is, there are people who know this(you can't take solo/electron)and if they have to buy a ticket they offer to pay with a solo card and claim they have no money. the robin hood line is notorious for it.

Major flaw with Permits to travel / Penalty fares

found this if it's any use. ATB Yorkie!! What do I do if I’ve got a penalty fare? A number of transport operators in London run penalty fares schemes. If you receive a penalty fare it’s not because you are being branded a criminal, it’s because you were travelling without a ticket or...

Major flaw with Permits to travel / Penalty fares

the RPIs who work out of london IMO are more agressive, it's down to the type of people they employ and that's all i'll say on that! the west midlands RPIs are nothing like that.

Major flaw with Permits to travel / Penalty fares

this is about the third case of this i've heard on FGWL. i would, in future, retain the permit until you've completed your journey. i think there's something in the conditions of carriage about it, but you don't have to give up your permit unless you get a proper ticket.

    Slam doors down south

because i've never lived in the SE, i can't understand the interest surrounding them. can anyone explain? i suppose it's down to what you get used to. the first trains i ever went on were a HST, a 156 and a 158, so i like them.

    Who are YOU backing?

as a first hater, i even have to admit that First run Great Western very well. but i would still like to see them lose out, preferably to NX.
