    Platform faces - widest

My local, Hook should be a contender. Width of Farnborough, but I think the gap left by the former island is bigger. I'll go down the road with a tape measure, shall I?

    South West Trains Mainline Blocked.

Haha, can't believe I missed that! Hook.

    South West Trains Mainline Blocked.

As I type a 9 car 159 has gone east. Long train for a Saturday, so a joinification? And as I type that, an 8 car stopper has left the station going east as well. Things are moving!

Grand Central only: Sunderland-London via Bradford?

Yeah, it is looks like none of the permitted routes go through all of those points... I'll give that a go, thanks. To clarify, I intend to do the Sunderland > Bradford bit not in one go, but to go up to Sunderland one day, going around the north to a few places and then on the next day...

Grand Central only: Sunderland-London via Bradford?

Hi all I have won some a pair of Grand Central tickets which are returns London Kings Cross to wherever I like. I understand the following question would be answered by the Routeing Guide, which I have looked at, but with no definite understanding unfortunately. If I have a return from...

    Free First Capital Connect tickets

Are the tickets transferable? If not then if I give one of the tickets to someone I am travelling with instead of them buying a ticket for themselves, will the guard be suspicious of the consecutive numbers at the top of the tickets? Would they look?

Good point, but I would've thought there are spare 165s at Reading.

Tesco Clubcard Redspottedhanky offer going down from 3x to 2x on 01/12/11

Never said anything about RSH or Tesco, I want to know why and how you or you're parents think you deserve £600 for ALRs. And that is why people don't like you, because you talk like that. An embarrassment to teenagers, as I said. The price is right, for you that is... No doubt you...

Tesco Clubcard Redspottedhanky offer going down from 3x to 2x on 01/12/11

It's quite disturbing reading this thread. I think I am the same age as ALR, as I heard he uses child tickets. I've just turned 16, so it's close enough, and I think I'll give my 2p. He sounds very, very spoilt. And sounds like he throws the toys out the pram whenever something goes wrong...

    58050, 60100, 91131, 2xDBSOs, What next?

Whilst on the subject of EMUs, I think this should be the bare minimum for first and second gen (Third gen being 1991 onwards): The first 313. (Reason stated above by Schnellzug) The first 321. The first 455. (Suburban Mk3 design, keeping a 317 would be biased towards 3xxs) The first 442...

I've done Fort William-Roy Bridge and back on the sleeper on the Highland Rover without a reservation.

Units freed up and future uses

I agree. 166s are doing journeys like Basingstoke-Reading and Slough-Windsor, you can't put them on a cross-country journey like Cardiff-Portsmouth. I'd like a 180, if it has to change. Other suitable trains would be 175s or 170s, and of course 158s.

    Freightmaster on SPL

No, all the times are for Water Orton station, they give no clue as to when they go 'onto' or 'off' the Sutton Park line at Park Lane Jn. The letters are only there to give a clue of where they come from or go to.

    Freightmaster on SPL

I assume this is on the Water Orton table. This working goes west, so the S denotes it goes onto the Sutton Park line after going through Water Orton station, at 21:45. All the times are for the location of the table, i.e. Water Orton station. I do apologise if I have assumed wrongly.
