Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Many First Group divisions have a ongoing vehicle shortage due to many B9TL's being written off when a major fault arises or engine replacement required (faults I assume Lothian would fix some of the time) Stagecoach North Scotland have the same problems but with life expired coaches. Lothian...

They usually start from something that starts with a 1 as its easier to keep a track of and stands out more. Solo SR's were 278-283 though in the end. 1770228474 Im thinking 1-9 or 201-209 as the 100s might be kept for remaining diesels that may arrive.

Ive always thought it was interesting that two euro 2's were retained for EastLothianBuses (now east coast) and up until you said this I thought 592 was the only one. The only difference between them visually being 554 got given green wheels. How long did they last after 2012?

The 7900H's can carry up to 34 seated and 58 standing, which totals 92 as they are designed for high capacity, and have more than any BZL/B5TL/B9TL in the fleet as although they have more seats given they are double deckers they however do have alot less standing (below 10 in most caes), even if...

I agree they are great buses and I dont think there is a desperate reason to withdraw them and they arent particularly high mileage compared to the SN10 B9TL's and possibly the SN09's.

Dont think anybody has ever thought this about a Gemini and somebody won't think lowly of Lothian over the headlights on a well maintained 17 year old bus.

26 could definitely justify tri axles, a capactiy increase from the current 79 seater Gemini 3's would help, even to E400 MMC's as the current capacity is not enough from my experience. The 3/25/44 use the 84 seater E400 MMC's and I can only speak for capacity on the 44 but I think it is...

Yeah all 15 contributors to the forum could really convince Lothian to convert around 700 buses to dual door!

Edinburgh & The Lothians Council Tender Services

The idea of an expanded service on the 32 potentially adding earlier and or later journeys seems interesting. A limited Sunday service could aswell, from my observations alongside the findings of the report it looks like the route has really been a success and will continue to grow.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

Lothian are the only major operator that has an all day footing in West Lothian now and if they decided they were capable of starting this competition then why shouldnt they of? Yes anyone could choose to register a service against Lothian but first they would question if the massive cost of...
