No surely they are valid for the time that it states on the website.
If you pass a medical surely it can’t expire just because you are waiting to take a position?
I believe the medicals are age related. If you pass the medical under the age of 40 I believe it is valid for 10 years and then every 5 years after 40.
Can somebody clarify the handover period at shift change please. Are you expected to get to your place of work early so the signaller can finish on time. If it is anything like my current job staff stroll in right on shift change time making it difficult at times to get off?
I was offered a job in January and have been told that I start signalling school on the 6th July. Recruitment also told me that local training centres are being set up to get more people trained. I will be going to a local training centre.

Make sure you know the non-technical skills and also the safety vision and the life saving rules.
I managed to use a different example for every non-technical skill that was asked...
Again thank you for your experience of the course. I am also probably putting extra pressure on myself so I need to just go, work hard and try to enjoy the course!
Thank you for your response, is the course really that difficult? Can I ask did everyone on your course pass? I am slightly worried about the course as I have no previous rail experience and have such a lot to loose if I don’t make the grade.
