RMT rejects latest offer from both Network Rail and RDG (TOCs)

If it was no strings percentage increase it would be accepted no doubt. Government/RDG need to stop playing games with “reforms”, especially as half the problem with train unreliability is their daft management anyway not the workers.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

They took away routes from drivers then have the nerve to cancel trains due to shortage of train crew.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

Seems like 7 pages of waffle that will be hard to implement or will be implemented unsuccessfully when it hits reality.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

I’m Sundays outside, coverage is never a problem. Sunday is more reliable than Saturday just less frequency.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

Read more like committed Sundays rather than Sundays inside.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

What the RDG have released does seem a bit like they are attaching some conditions that kind of happen anyway, won’t be able to be achieved or the TOCs won’t want just to make the problem go away without changing much. But seemingly to the general public and government change has happened...

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

There is already a disparity in pay between drivers at tocs. So a one size fits all isn’t going to help. Not much movement happens between tocs. Apprenticeships and getting people of the street seems to be the norm now rather than poaching qualified from other tocs.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

They(dft etc) should allow a percentage and then becomes up to TOCs and local reps to sort out.

Train drivers offered pay rise in bid to end strikes

It does read a bit like they don’t already know what goes on. Hopefully it sets a framework so individual TOCs and reps can negotiate. RDG can then pat themselves on the back saying they resolved the dispute.

Poor quality passenger rail service increases demand for private car purchases

Basically they are making an assumption to back up a political narrative. Don’t remember being asked why I’m buying a car by any dealership.

Poor quality passenger rail service increases demand for private car purchases

It should be much lower going by the price of a barrel. Companies will take the opportunity of duty increase to add a few more pence on a litre for their own pockets.

Poor quality passenger rail service increases demand for private car purchases

Probably, they seem to love raising tax and hitting the working class as much as possible. Rising fuel costs increase inflation too.

The 12p fuel duty rise will get people off the roads.

    UK Rail Passenger Numbers Discussion

In regards to tickets, sell them cheap and stack them high. Lumo are running at a profit aren’t they?

    Frustrated with RMT

Could probably get rid of 50% of that lot and notice no difference. Probably improve efficiency.
