    London Overground line names announced

I think if someone is finding the fact it was named after the female team and not the male team devisive, then I think there are bigger issues at play there... see Joey Barton. It's still fundamentally the England national team.

    London Overground line names announced

No where in the naming of Windrush does it imply or confer any importance OVER others. Thats on you. Naming it merely says it has some importance to be recognised

    London Overground line names announced

You are *very* good at making things up I'll give you that... I haven't told anyone to not say anything nor have I said people suggesting S Bahn numbers are having a strop... You seem very confused

    London Overground line names announced

No matter how neutral it is or how it functions, it *is* still a political position, in the political make up of our country. It is de facto political! If we got rid of it we would need and alternative Head of State or alterations to the current political setup. To try and claim as others have...

I said reactionaries having a strop. Can you show me your reason discussion then?

    London Overground line names announced

What a really really bizarre comment. I'm not sure you could come across, more immature if you tried... It seems your only perception of discussion with you is that it must be dissenting... Infact you've quite literally told me if I don't agree you are right I should leave the discussion. Seems...

    London Overground line names announced

Yes they did. And now a few years on no one give a damn. Much like these names. Once the reactionaries have had their little strop, the world will keep on turning and these names will become part of the furniture.

You might want to check again then... you missed it.

    London Overground line names announced

Haha. The only ones creating polarisation are the people getting up in arms by a simple name. It gets a name and then loads of people find a flimsy excuse to get all angry at how that name is offensive to *them*.

Use of asinine phrases like 'woke' generally dont need counter argument, reason has generally fallen out the opinion by then...

You're in for a suprise if you read some history books...

    London Overground line names announced

It's a good job we don't have Tube lines called nebulous things like Jubilee, Metropolitan, District then... Or a Northern line covering huge swathes of South of London.

    London Overground line names announced

The Monarch is the Head of State... it about as political as you can get. Calling this woke or left reveals faaar much more about you than any of the wibble you wrote.

    London Overground line names announced

The fact is sent a big portion of this thread into a raging fit becuase the lines had the temerity to be named after female or BAME things is veeeerrry telling unfortunately...

Is it time to replace LU line names with numbers?

Like District and Metropolitan... or Jubilee... Nothing geographical in any of those and you'd need to know history to know those names. Bakerloo which although potentially obvious is a portmanteau which is potentially lost on many of general public in the modern day Even the Northern line is...

Greater Anglia to install tables on its Stansted Express trains

Isn't it a case of there was a (fanciful) expectation that there were enough for Norwich with the yet uncommited and pie in the sky timetable and line speed improvements - seeing a reduction in diagrams. With the occasional stealing of a SX unit or 755 lash up being very rare. None of that has...

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

No one is sub leasing anything to anyone... its the same TOC! They just have subbrands for the routes. And - I could be wrong - but I'm pretty sure all the 730s much like the majority of the AC Aventras are 23-24m long compared to the 19-20m 4 car fleets. So a 6 car is not too far off the...

Third rail - becoming a better option for electrification?

Just to add to the thread about the fact that NR Southern Region are actively investigating schemes and mitigations they can propose and not just sitting on "presumption against". Yes nothing is approved and it could all get refused but they see DC extensions as the best case for a number of...

Third rail - becoming a better option for electrification?

Well NR were not presuming no chance and were trying to actively overcome this as recently as April 2023 and working with ORR to find these things to overcome and propose a viable working solution and proposals - so the will is there... That project and trial may be dead now but who knows.

Third rail - becoming a better option for electrification?

Unless there has been a statement or news from the ORR in the last year clarifying this then the continued use of the statement that there is some full stop ban on any 3rd rail installation repeated in this thread is just perpetuating a bit of myth. - If there has been I stand corrcted but it...
