Trivia : Are there any stations that have no public exits?

However you can still pick up tickets there, according to the National Rail interactive map! :D And there is a lost property service.

    Caledonian Sleeper

I have done this via their online form. As it was five days ago I doubt a phone call would be necessary.

Coming back from Glasgow last Tuesday, there was a real jolt (which woke me and a few others up) at what I think were points just south of Wigan. I think it was here... LAT: 53.524474 LON: -2.611792

Trainline to be investigated for not including fees in prices

I didn't understand why people used The Trainline, and then I tried it - it is very user friendly. But I prefer Virgin Trains Ticketing if I am going to use an app.

SWR also do this a lot - the status being completely unchanged. 13:58 Exeter St Davids to London Waterloo due 17:49 is being delayed at Exeter St Davids. This is due to trespass on the railway. Last Updated:21/08/2026 14:13 Due Station Status 13:58 Exeter St Davids 13:58 14:03 Exeter...

    Made up excuses for lateness

At Bournemouth a few years ago there was a small delay as "a bird had become entangled in the coupling equipment". Or words to that effect. Poor bird. :(

Megabus: £39.48 return for 2, on random dates I checked. Megabus do the same thing as Citylink - you can book a specific service, but your ticket acts as a standby on another service on the same route in the same direction. I am pretty sure we have Ember to thank for that, what with them being...

    Scottish Citylink

For me it's the fact that Stagecoach make you check two websites for the same service. Would everyone know that to book a Citylink branded service at the best fare, you shouldn't use the Citylink website? I am a regular user of buses and even I forgot about the megabus option. And if you are...

Are Paper Bus Timetables still in your area?

The X52 is just Weymouth - Bridport. There will be a service to Lyme Regis/Axminster at the times shown, but it won't be an X52, it will be X51 or X53. So passengers not expecting to change buses will have to change, and of course pay another £3 if they are going beyond Bridport.

Are Paper Bus Timetables still in your area?

First here have printed a summer timetable! It's 88 glossy pages. Which is great to see, except... the X52 doesn't go to Axminster. How this got through their quality control...

    Scottish Citylink

When I was at Edinburgh at 4am on 5th August, Ember charged me £14.25 to Inverness. Citylink wanted £27.50. Which feels suspiciously like the fare before the fare cap in the Highlands was introduced. Fares are supposed to reflect this when journeys cross the fare cap boundary.
