All the 153/3 vehicles of the Active Travel units have been through Crewe ATC for heavy exams/overhauls. 153312, the spare vehicle is currently there for the same work so seems a good chance of it being that.
HD01 is trapped by a yard incident at Holyhead and wont leave until Monday.
Same as happened today, 1V33 from Manchester will form 1W57 from Cardiff and 1V39 will form 1W61.
HD01 is swapping into 1W61/1V62 to get it to Canton
HD02 and 06 are on tyre turn.
HD03 LED light fitment
HD04/05/07 covering the Crewe/Holyhead starts tomorrow
Looks like it had Gearbox issues at Wrexham on 21st July, made it to Cardiff and back then swapped out at Chester and now parked up at the back of the Middle yard ever since.

Theres updated ASDO software on some of the Cambrian units (not sure which) but those units cant multi with...
Obviously what happens on the day may differ but its booked for a 5 car 197.

Its showing in the unit diagram as remaining coupled all day, only splitting at Shrewsbury in the evening, the 3 car then goes onto Abbey Foregate, the 2 car ECS to Chester.
Not sure about 028 as been out so long its information has dropped off the system.
013 had a gearbox failure at Swansea and limped off to Landore the next day and remains there.
Others not used recently are:
197008 at Holyhead for several months, 197014 at Chester since around December
197020...
AFAIK theres still some Cardiff Mainline crews booked on 158s between Chester and Shrewsbury.

197 introduction Now postponed for September, likely delay of 4-6 weeks due to unit issues.
Theres plenty of undiagrammed 153s, there will also be the 158s released from the Cambrian which could cover Ebbw/Maesteg/Cheltenham diagrams temporarily until the 231s are released.
With the amount of coupling/uncoupling across the network its hard to see where else the 158s could be used...
No plans to cut them as it stands, likely just the mitigations of last time, reduced catering and Thunderbird stabled at Hereford.
Theres a bit of a queue for wheel lathes this week so HD01/04/07 are all awaiting tyre turns and HD02 still quarantined for checks it does restrict things somewhat...
Yes, all seems to have slipped back. There was a brief time when V91 was allocated to HD06 but dissapeared again. Yes, the second set wont do W11 now.
Looks like it will be Monday now for a return to normality.
Tomorrow theres a spare rake on Canton. Despite being booked 197, it potentially may start being a Mk4 again ad-hoc now things are getting back to normal.
