    Problems with trainsplit.

@yorkie has got it but if you're specifically searching for Open Returns, we won't be able to offer splits. Put a likely return date in and you'll be able to potentially get a set of splits that are valid flexibly, though the suggestions above are probably the way to go anyway.

    Forum loading issues?

Apologies, we are indeed intermittently being the subject of a DDoS attack at present. We're working on it! Hopefully should be much faster in the last 5 min or so

    Heathrow reverse working - 04/07/2026

Wondering if they're testing a hot weather plan perhaps? I think with the layout of the Heathrow stations it needs less underground points switching running the branch with the lines switched.

    PlusBus Tickets

Things do appear to be moving, albeit slowly, with Whippet in Cambridge. Had this back today: Hopefully means they'll be online with PlusBus scanning before too long.

    Cambridge South new station opening

Was passing through the biomedical campus earlier in the week - didn’t have time to go up to the bridge but I got this photo of the new RA2 double arrows station sign!

Best way to download huge threads for offline viewing?

Unfortunately we aren’t really in a position to give out API keys to non staff; it’s open to abuse (as we have no way of tracking how that data is used once it leaves our network) and as a small volunteer team we don’t really have the ability to actively monitor the use of these in the way that...

    RealTimeTrains website

I'm not convinced it'd have anything to do with the number of browsers?

Report of collision Bedford (Elstow) - 19/06/26

Some of the cushions on the 360s have questionable levels of being affixed to the train, so Im not surprised by this.

Following the Bedford incident, should TPWS - or something providing an equivalent level of protection - be fitted to all remaining unfitted signals?

Agree with this - there is definitely an argument that all signals immediately following crossovers in this scenario should get TPWS fitted.

    European Sleeper experience

If no luck with European Sleeper, do complain to Interrail; in situations like these they're usually pretty good, and have been known to reimburse accommodation costs directly if the operator is being uncooperative.

Unable to exchange Advance single booked through this site - what did I do wrong?

Bletchleyite is correct as to the flow to use currently (we realise there's optimisations we can make here in the medium term!) @trainophile - We've been doing some testing internally around the 'undo' functionality and we don't think there's a functional issue here; if you click continue...

    Deutsche Bahn seat reservations

I suspect you've got a reversal at Cologne on your date of travel which is why it's not clearly stating a direction.

RegioJet and LeoExpress announces expansion into Poland (Open access)

Those timings seem.... optimistic. Not least as it looks like there is a <40min turnaround time at the Frankfurt end so delay recovery is going to be tricky.

Introduction of European Entry-Exit Scheme (EES)

I had an identical experience there last week too (other than Liseberg not ferries being the reason for my visit!). I note the EES tool thinks Im still in the EU after exiting at Amsterdam too, so I fully expect a similar correction to be needed on next entry.

Trivia: networks that have scrapped ticket machines

It is worth noting that whilst SJ has phased out ticket machines, you can still buy tickets for at least some SJ services on the TVMs operated by the regional transport authority, at least in Skane.

    Interrail vs ALR

I have not verified this but I have seen a report of NI-based residents getting an extra day for use in GB, if true that's presumably by recognition that it's a fair trek when using it as a land bridge to the rest of Europe.

HOTNAT / AJC Utrecht to Paris

Eurostar are pragmatic (unless they have to think about paying for hotels!) - you will near-100% likely be just allowed on the next available Eurostar, with no arguments whatsoever, even without a HOTNAT stamp (though get one if you can). It's something they have to deal with on a daily basis.

HOTNAT / AJC Utrecht to Paris

HOTNAT is available in all three of those scenarios so long as you purchase a valid combination of tickets, with no gaps, before the disruption occurs. I would avoid the last train of the day unless travelling on some sort of through ticket/Interrail pass (and the latter is more pain-free if...

    Interrail Passes

That's the system for domestic TGVs, international TGVs tend to be a single set price (with a couple of exceptions)
