I have to admit as a regular rail traveller and someone who loves flying that I'd only ever consider the coach to be an absolute distress purchase i.e. there are no trains or flights, or I can't delay my journey long enough until the trains are running again, or the train is so ridiculously...
Now you mention it, I noticed this with a 26A a few months back too. I was waiting for a 757 to the airport at Paisley Gilmour Street and the scheduled 26A sailed past in the far lane, with no chance of stopping for anyone wanting it.
Might put in a little non-specific email asking the company...
My bugbear is the 801/802/803 group of services. We all know *why* they are registered but there seems to be an assumption no-one will ever use them, so on the rare occasion I'm back up visiting friends and family and head out for one of these back to Gourock between 23:00 and 00:00, I literally...
MTA have removed the mask mandate on the New York Subway, buses, LIRR etc effective immediately! I have to admit I didn't see this coming although compliance has reportedly been dropping for a long time. Excellent news ahead of my trip to New York next month! The Twitter replies to MTA's tweet...
Recently, I've been pleased to find contactless payment possible on local transport in several cities in Czechia (including Pilsen, Pardubice and Ostrava), on the TIB buses in Mallorca, in Lublin (Poland) and in Tallinn. No more rushing round to find a cigarette kiosk open after 21:00 to...
We flew Heathrow to Milan Linate on 8 July and back Munich to Heathrow on 11 July (was meant to be LTN-MXP and BSL-LGW but easyJet cancelled both flights on the day!). On the way out to Milan, masks were not required - as expected - and only a handful wore one. What did surprise me was no...
Another plus one for finding this growing menace disappointing from a passenger experience perspective. Katowice to Krakow seems especially bad for this now, although Switzerland seems to mostly have gone for barriers that are only a few metres high meaning you can still see most of the view...
We did the last rounder from Liverpool Street at 2212 and back from Hertford East at 2309. Was chatting to a regular passenger and his wife sat behind us who were both quite interested in what was going on, and in wider transport planning issues. Also good to see a lot of younger enthusiasts out...
The 547 surely isn't going? Maybe it's worth running an open topper on, maybe not, but without it we're saying 2bph is enough from Greenock to Gourock Pierhead? That'll be the worst frequency on this link in my lifetime!
I run a number of regular Twitter searches just to keep up to speed with what's happening Covid-wise and one particular link to this article (on msn.com) seems to be absolutely everywhere today, mostly being posted and retweeted by faceless name and number accounts. It feels like a concerted...
Should be 317507 and 317510. Looks like they are going on to Cambridge on the 18:43 from LST.
It appears that 317338 and 317343 were booked to work the 17:30 Stansted - Liverpool Street too, though I don't know if they actually did.
Any idea whether the unbooked pair will stay out all evening?
I can see what was originally scheduled but not what might change as the evening goes on.
Subject of course to change but it would appear at the moment that 317507 and 317508 are allocated to the diagram starting Bishops Stortford at 05:30 and finishing Stratford at 23:09, operating Stratford - Meridian Water / Bishops Stortford all day. A final hurrah?! If this is correct, I just...
Can you confirm it remains the case that alcohol is prohibited on all Polish trains except those PKP Intercity services that have a restaurant car, and even then only allowed in that area (i.e. you can't buy a beer and take it back to your seat)? As someone who likes a quiet beer or two when...
From my own perspective, we always aim to book a PKP Intercity loco hauled service with restaurant car and simply head there when the train arrives, drinking beer (and sometimes eating the pretty decent food cooked on board) all the way. As mentioned above, most loco hauled restaurant cars have...
To be fair, in this instance, it is the TfL guidance that is being relaxed to encourage only those who wish extra protection to take whatever measures they feel appropriate, letting the rest of us get on with it without being strongly recommended to do anything. However, this particular...
Can confirm mine is (North London) though they have ditched the wonderful Patient Access system they used to use allowing you to select an appointment online at the time of your choosing with an online form which you fill in with all your symptoms and the surgery gets back to you in a day or two...
