I has happened a number of times that a Northern 156 has turned up in Glasgow Central on a Scotrail service

Class 334 could be used for the Valleys to allow Scotrail to have more Class 380 or similar....
(Probably within 10 years, in Scotland, Class 314 will be finished, and the Class 318 wont be far off retirement, with the Class 320 a few years behind the Class 318)
Never heard of Airdrie to Bathgate becoming 380 operated. There was a rumour going about that Scotrail wanted to send some of the Class 380 to Bathgate LMD, to have toilets emptied and to be washed overnight. This would probably by ECS from Edinburgh tho, and only if Bathgate could hold them...
Work hasstarted on Paisley Canal, and I believe Cumbernauld is next to be done, and integrated into Queen Street Low Level.
When Wifflet is done I expect the short distance between Coatbridge and the junction on the Cumbernaul line (which have forgotten), will be done at same time

Class 318/320 are booked to operate with each other.
Think they are being used as a common pool, so if a 320 is not available for a diagram a 318 will go out on it, and vice versas
Few spare units each day, pending future electrification of the Strathclyde network
I think the if the 318 or 320 end up replacing the Class 314, then yes Paisley Canal and East Kilbride could be covered by one fleet (including Neilston, Newton & Cathcart), however the Whifflet will come under the Argyle Line fleet, when it diverts to the low level when electrified.
