    Natural phenomenon you have witnessed?

Very similar experience from a school friend's garden in southern Munich - 20min gap in cloud/rain just at the perfect time! Canon FT (with Ektachrome! Proper old school transparencies!) with 2x converter on a Televue Pronto (960mm FL I think)

    Natural phenomenon you have witnessed?

We combined it with a family holiday, and brought the caravan on the Plymouth-Santander ferry, so probably the cost is way more than need be! Cadiz next year is a potential - you could easily fly to Seville, drive in and out. 1785768652 I have the same issue - at 9 degrees, it's a bit of a...

Stations with "Train Approaching" bells (Trivia)

Coach F of the derailed sleeper train at Morpeth on 24th June 1984 did finish 10ft inside of a bungalow. An unscheduled and unfortunate arrival.

The "And in other news..." thread

I've had similar to this - I got close passed/cut up on my bike commute and put the helmet cam video into Thames Valley Police. The driver was recommended for a Driver Awareness Course (there was a lot of to-ing and fro-ing to actually work out if they were insured...as it turned out, they...

Stations with "Train Approaching" bells (Trivia)

Upper Warlingham certainly had one in the late 80s/early 90s, but had lost it by the early 2000s when I commuted...

    What's your latest acquisition?

I have some bits arrive from Roxey Mouldings (grab rails etches, buffers, roofs) for a long term project in building up two ex SECR 100 Seaters...

    Post-Wembley Concert Transport

Bicester is just as easy for us, and with two trains after 2320, so that looks great. A Bicester Village/North - Wembley Stad. return with a single from Oxford Parkway to Bic Village is a good combination from the looks. Thanks for all the help!

    Post-Wembley Concert Transport

Even High Wycombe - it's actually just as quick a run down the M40 as it is to go across to P.Ris. Thanks - will run options past them.

    Post-Wembley Concert Transport

That's a good point - I didn't know how ridiculously busy Wembley Stadium station would be afterwards though (with less of a service than the tube).

    Post-Wembley Concert Transport

My daughter and friend (both 15) are going to Bruno Mars at Wembley on the 18th July. She's going to get the train from Oxford Parkway to Wembley Stadium on the way in. In terms of getting home, the same route won't work, so we're gonna drive in and pick them up. I had suggested that they get...

    What's your latest acquisition?

Have done almost nothing model related recently, but a few bits for future work - Ratio 594 (even planked SR van), Cambrian C7 (SR 25T pillbox). Trying to get a couple of Masokits etches for lift-link brakes to go with the van (and a ply van already owned). Also, related reading (lift link...

Trivia - Unexpected (and beneficial) station stops

When I was living that way and commuting, managing to jump on a Thumper held at Upper Warlingham's up starter was a rare event, but handy nonetheless when possible (and a rare trip on the Thumper too for me :) )

Staff says London Terminals ticket is not Valid

Except, in my tests, stating St Pancras as the starting station doesn't result in the ticket as presented being offered. The starting station "London (Any)" results in the following - it's clear here that the journey sold is from London Bridge. It's left as an exercise for the purchaser to...

Staff says London Terminals ticket is not Valid

OP (on Reddit) states that the itinerary says London Bridge to Tunbridge Wells. So yes, not as per booked, and yes, not valid at StP as suspected.
