    South Wales Metro - Future

Ebbw Vale to Newport services really should be extended through to Abergavenny if they reopen bay platform there and the new caerleon station

First unit in full GBR livery

Way over the top. Ive seen far better designs come up with by member sof this forum and others in my 6yr daughter could probably design a better livery with some crayons

    South Wales Metro - Future

I agree with you its was others suggesting it. Maesteg line should be 1tph to Ebbw Vale and 1tph shuttle timed so trains pass at Tondu using the existing loop once its relaid and resignalled. A loop between lynfi junction and Sarn needs to be looked at too.

    South Wales Metro - Future

Will reduce capacity at brisgens by having services crossover to acess the VOG through platform 1. I was told years ago that if they remodelled the junction east of Bridgend to allow acess to the VOG from platform 2 they'd havw to reduce the speed limit through the station. Any improved...

UK switching to electric vehicles discussion

Looks like ford's are planning on ressurecting thw ford fiesta as an ev but are also looking at models.with combustion engines. Favourite car I owned was my lovely 14 plate fiesta so a ev model might tempt me to buy an ev depending though if the landlords will give permission to install...

No thanks many of us who use swanline stations don't fancy longer trips via the VOG.

    South Wales Metro - Future

Swanline has taken the path of the 2nd Maesteg between Bridgend and Cardiff Central. A shuttle i think might actually be a good idea

    South Wales Metro - Future

Given plaid want to show themselves as working for wales i suspect we will see improvements for areas not already having it undertaken metro. Basically we may see the long overdue tondu loop and half hourly VOG service

    Newquay to Gatwick to end

Loganair reduced prices and had an earlier flight from Cardiff and guess what passenger numbers increased even their boss said there was opportunity for expansion at Cardiff but of course they decided to go for Southampton instead

    Newquay to Gatwick to end

Loganair ruined the Cardiff to Edinburgh route. The route needs at least twice daily at decent times and again not charge such high fares

    South Wales Metro - Future

Track work and resignalling. However I do think another loop should be looked at between lynfi jct and wildmill to help with delays at Bridgend caused by trains waiting for late services to clear the branch. Electrification of the mainline to Swansea along with separating swanline and Swansea...

South Wales 'Metro' extension to Pierhead Street

I think this is something that needs to be looked at yes and possibly a north facing bay platform

Sadiq Khan says future of Heathrow Express should be ‘reconsidered’ due to Elizabeth line success

My opinion is to keep heathrow express but they need to realise they need to make some big cuts to fare prices to gwt more bums on seats. The western and Eastern links need to be constructed and heathrow express extended beyond T5 through to Reading etc

    South Wales Metro - Future

2tph planned in the future for the Maesteg branch after resignalling and upgrading of the loop at Tondu. However only 1tph will run to Cardiff thw other will be a shuttle to Bridgend. Think.brackla station need to be built too thats very long overdue

Short (under 15 miles) lines that would be useful to electrify

Filton to WSM and tm to Chippenham would help maybe a charging bar then at Portishead and Severn beach etc like Caerphilly has at its bay platform

    South Wales Metro - Future

Ive attached two screenshot from a local Facebook group suggesting the 1st of the class 398 units is to enter service on 23rd May. 0515 Taff's well depot to Cardiff Central to be 1st trip then Cardiff Central to Pontypridd. Whether or not this actually works i guess we will have to see what...

Short (under 15 miles) lines that would be useful to electrify

Cardiff to Bridgend and perhaps Newport to Crosskeys to allow class 756s to be used on Maesteg to Ebbw Vale and Ebbw Vale to Newport services
