Yes, I'm aware of that - possibly I didn't make it clear that I have heard native German speakers refer to a bus stop as a 'Bussstation'.
Similarly, a terminus may be referred to as an 'Endstation'.
'Bus station' itself can be problematic in countries where English isn't the first language. I've seen and heard 'Busstation' instead of 'Bushaltestelle'.
