Does it matter if bus services reduce car usage but not car ownership?

Yeah but what should be included in the cost of motoring should be the cost of using the car park at my place of work which is many times the size of the office. It should not be free. I fund my travel costs including where the bus/train is left hanging around when not in use. The people who...

Does it matter if bus services reduce car usage but not car ownership?

Cars sat their doing nothing take up a lot of space. Next doors two people carriers take up half the land area of their house. Our office is dwarfed by the the area of the car parks (which are free) filled with cars doing nothing all day. That is paid for by my employer in rent. I don't get a...

    Merseyrail and Giants event

Based on the hundreds of thousands of people the similar events have attracted in the past I would say prudent planning is in order. It's not something I am in to but I understand that many, many people will travel from more than just the local area to see it.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

    Merseyrail and Giants event

Look mate, I take it back, I was probably a bit insensitive. Perhaps definitely rather than probably. The difficulty is that providing a regular/normal service will be nigh on impossible.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Right, so when you ask me to prove I am not a bigot you also just want to be able to generalise about everyone who doesn't agree with you.

buses remember to put your hand out

I always stick my arm out. My problem on the way to work is the bus I go to catch flying past the bus stop 5 mins early just as I get to the stop. I can then use the Arriva App to see it wait for five mins by Garston Park before heading to South Parkway. After that the bus due ten minutes later...

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Alright, I unequivocally condemn all bigotry and hatred. Always have done and always will do. Far and away the weirdest thing I have ever been asked to do on this forum.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

I'm not happy with bigotry. I have mates who voted leave who most certainly aren't racists. How am I perfectly happy with bigotry?

    Hillsborough Disaster - Some Questions

Just a weird coincidence that the first and last match you watched was the Heysell disaster and you also want to blame the fans for Hillsborough.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Ha ha ha. Blaming everyone else for how Brexit is going. You know what you said before about not calling Brexiteers racist, am I still allowed to call the racist ones racist? Is there a hard and fast rule on this. Like the woman I work with who voted Brexit because of the Pa*is, is she no longer...

Luton: Why does it feel like a rundown Northern ex-mill town but is 45 minutes from London?

A mate of mine has just moved from West Kirby to Hitchin. It looks very pleasant. He tells people he lives in London because it is the nearest built up area, albeit too far away to call it somewhere he does his socialising.

Dunstable, Ebbsfleet, St Albans, Luton are all meh unless you are looking at settling down. No reason to go to any of them otherwise.
