From memory (ex Driver) Stagecoach Midlands in Northampton charge a flat fare of £1.00 to/from the railway station and the bus station.
I have an ENCTS pass, and the journey from my village into Northampton is just before the 09.25 start of the concession time, I pay £1.80 to the next village...
No, according to my new Quail diagrams book, there is no access to P4 from the North within the local area, the closest crossover is at Shelwick Jcn, but I doubt anything can be signalled that way.
And spectacularly got it wrong by saying there haven't been ANY trains along the line since December, sloppy journalistic reporting, by assuming that there haven't been any freight trains along there.
I report these scams to Facebook every time, just got a message from them this morning that (the GWR one) 'doesn't go against their advertising standards'...

I had the same scenario this week, I boarded the train at Long Buckby, ticket office was closed (took a photo of it in case i needed proof), travelled to Birmingham New Street, where there is a 'fares to pay' window, and redeemed my RTV there.
I have booked a journey (Via this sites excellent page!) and involves a return journey cross London from Euston to Paddington.
Collected the tickets from TOD machine, as it said it was the only fulfilment option, which I understand is normal for a cross London journey.
Tickets printed out, but...
I had a ticket barrier inspector at Liverpool Moorfields insist that the ticket wasn't valid until 10.00, I went to the ticket office, who confirmed that he was wrong, and was let through the barrier claiming that the ticket office were wrong, but he 'let me off this once'.....
