Can’t say for sure but looking at RTT 158792 started the service at Carlisle and terminated at Skipton, I believe Thackley Tunnel near Shipley was flooded preventing it running to Leeds, I expect the service was then partly reinstated from Sheffield to Nottingham.

Railcam was showing it as Freighliner.

I would say platform 5 at Shipley with it been on quite a sharp curve, but also more difficult from the conductors perspective with visibility when dispatching the train, usually having to walk the width of the platform from the middle of the train when releasing and closing the doors.

I maybe wrong but I believe the 158’s which transferred a few years back from Scot Rail to Northern (158786 etc) travelled between Haymarket and either Heaton/Neville Hill via the ECML thus covering the Dunbar-Berwick section.

I guess you could add Leeds to this with the current one way system in place. To get to platform 17 from the main entrance once through the tickets barriers it involves walking the length of platform 8, across the far footbridge then walking the length of platform 16 to reach 17.

This was 158844, looking at real-time trains its journey appears to of terminated at Newcastle Central rather than continuing onto Heaton depot.
