Services Suspended between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa from 27/12/21.

Although the trains are back to normal at least one replacement bus was seen at Kenilworth this afternoon. I could understand keeping one on standby but why waste money duplicating the trains?

Trivia: from which stations can you see/hear your train coming when it's still miles away?

Borth, as the train passes round Borth bog and through the closed station at Ynyslas

Looking for old GMPTE bus timetables

The bus archive at Walsall https://www.busarchive.org.uk/ contains an extensive collection of timetables for all uk operators, including GMTE. In many cases we have an almost complete collection from the 1920s to the present day.

    Platforms of Last Resort

Leamington Platform 1 currently has 2 departures a day. Although passenger trains can depart from it the only route in is a shunt move. Are there any others that can only be used for departures?

    Cambrian Line delays

Bow Street does have an effect on timekeeping as it reduces the turnround at Aberystwyth to six minutes, giving no chance to recover from delays- previously four or five minutes could be regained.

    Cancellations due to lineside vegetation

Yesterday 1V85 11.33 New street -Banbury was shown as cancelled between Leamington and Banbury due to lineside vegetation, and today some Leamington -Coventrty trains are cancelled for the same reason. As these are and different routes, and other trains are running normally over them I assume...

Is the Chiltern Mainline particularly vulnerable to flooding?

Platform 3 at Dorridge is signalled for movements in either direction so it could have been used to turn back without going north of the station. Would it not have been better for Warwick Parkway and Dorridge passengers to have a through train rather than change to a bus, and Leamington...

Is the Chiltern Mainline particularly vulnerable to flooding?

While it is true that Banbury is easier than Leamington as a place for Chiltern to terminate why was one train per hour not run to Dorridge? There were no other trains there and it would have benefited Leamington passengers and provided a service south from Dorridge, which had no trains atall.

Is the Chiltern Mainline particularly vulnerable to flooding?

Complete chaos at Dorridge this morning. CIS still showing 09.09 and 09.27 Kidderminster as on time until departure time and no general announcements even though the line had been blocked since the previous evening. I had to go on realtime trains and inform other passengers myself . Surely there...

    Kenilworth Station Closure

How ironic that trains cease to serve Kenilworth from Monday 18th January, exactly 56 years from the previous closure in 1965.

    Trivia: Restricted Area Bus Routes

Another route that had an armed guard was Richards Brothers Haverfordwest -St Davids Route which entered Brawdy RAF base. I don't know when this started but I remember the guard boarding at the gatehouse and riding on the bus round the base. Later the bus turned at the gates without entering the...

West Midlands Mayor Wants WMT Franchise Stripped

Some simple management of disruption would help a bit. Last Saturday we travelled from Leamington to Kenilworth. I was already aware that one of the two workings was cancelled all day, so planned accordingly. Arrived at the station at 14.40 for the 14.45, showing 3 late on the screens, then...
