Quick one - I note that on the new diagrams the seats J11 and J13 appear to be true individual seats, ie one is pointing at the back of the other whereas previously these were seats either side of of a table - anyone know if this is the case or is it an error in the seating plan?

About time!! It has been pretty much impossible to book 'table for two' when 2 people have been travelling for about the last 6 months. I have several long email conversations with East Coast about this!

That did indeed seem to be the case, and an email has been sent to EC web customer support to point this out and clarify the T&C of the ticket I was actually sold. The fares have now been removed from the main part of the site and only appear when accessed through the relevant link.

It was only by chance - the £46 fare appeared, I assume incorrectly, when accessing the site using the 20% promotion. Upon collecting the tickets they were labelled Readers Offer and some Googling answered the rest! But you are right, they are not shouted about!

Previous experience when looking at fares from Manchester to Scottish destinations was that the fare were actually lower when starting from Manchester Airport as opposed to travelling from Manchester Piccadilly
