Metrolink (Altrincham Manchester) has deterioriated since it became light rail, it is simply a cash cow for TfGM and they do not care one bit, I live in Sale and rarely get a seat on an M5000 and on the return head towards Piccadilly to make sure that I get a seat, when the T67s disappear there...

the problems with TfGM trams is complex; properly designed bus lanes would are suffice, they are cheaper, flexible, quicker off the drawing board (CAD), and competitive. Runcorn is doing alright TfGM trams are small, few seats, expensive and are relatively slow esp if your commute is let's...

Another reason is spare capacity at the Manchester stations is zero. Moving the Alty, Bury and Rochdale lines has put off the need for expensive improvements in the city centre though travelling to Manairport/EGCC will be faster by bus, as it is to Eccles from city centre, and you get a seat. I...

Re "Cinderland". The Signal box was named "Cinderland...I suspect that the builders at the time must have been illiterate, there is an image on flickr showing "the spelling".

This bridge is for two tracks to pass under and is to European loading gauge, that it was built about 2003. In 2005 a deforestation team in orange jackets pruned back all the overgrowth. A paper factory and a recycling / biomass power station at Partington is nearly finished and that they were...

I have heard on the grapevine, a rumour (MPT), that Metrolink may head out to Wilmslow along the Burnage route, it is in the "study stage" so no more Pendos for local commuters! It would be a big come down from the present arrangements.
