In that case 67005 would've reversed/shunted the INV on to the rear/east end of the train as normal at Waverley, but then would've had to run round to take the train out west to Carstairs?
...and the reverse of the train at Carstairs to get 92043 on what was the rear is what resulted in the...
This is all correct...
Longish story. 92023 was supposed to work Carstairs last night but became indisposed. 73967 then ran in as Plan B from Mossend (where it was ex-Royal Scotsman duties) to work 5C11 to EDB and plan was it would then work 1C11 etc. However, that plan didn't pan out, so...

That photo has 4 liveries on 4 vehicles... Royal Scotsman 66, Caledonian Sleeper 73, InterCity Mk2 brake coach, ex-First Scotrail Mk2 lounge car (just in shot).
That particular coach has been on-hire for a couple of months or so I think - was collected from Bishop Auckland by a 66. But there...
92018 en route to Crewe for onward transfer to Brush later in the week to be the sixth Class 92 into Loughborough for CAF Mk5 mods.

All bar 032 and 044 have already had the full reliability mods - they're now getting (or due) specific CAF Mk5 Mods - Dellners and other equipment (driver-controlled PA and doors for example).
Other than 038 (which is set up to test the Mk5s with 1.5kv ETS) the others are retaining classic...
If it was on the left-hand (west) side as you go from Salford Crescent to Clifton it's Brindle Heath Refuse Transfer Station.
Loco most likely 66528 as it worked 6J44 15:50 Brindle Heath Refuse Transfer Station FHH to Manchester Dean Lane RT Sidings FHH and can't see any other likely suspects...
The electric supply required to power a 16-rake train full of electronic gizmos, showers etc. is far higher than can be handled through the Dellner couplings themselves (if that's what you mean). The 92s will supply ETS at 1,500v / 600 Amps.
And they are fitted with auto-couplers - that’s what...
...and if it's Mk5s you're after, they'll only be on the Lowlander by December (hopefully!) so it'd be the 21:25ish to 23:50ish slot they're in Euston (every evening except Saturday) and also in the mornings from 07:00ish to 08:25ish (every morning except Sunday).
I doubt given how much business GBRf have put Wabtec/Brush's way with the 73/9 rebuilds, Class 92 overhauls/reinstatements etc that Brush would tell them the reinstatements of 006/020 (which have already taken a considerable time) are being de-prioritised in favour of another customer. As...
