Rail & Sail - traveling tonight but no printer

TLDR: Don't even give it a second thought. They're used to seeing them shown on screens. I've never printed one and never had a problem. Not even when I went to the gateline at Romford and pretty much (politely!) Said "let me in ASAP, I'm about to miss the train!". I suspect few if any get...

Day trip to the Isle of Man

I had wondered what time they let you board that night crossing actually. Is the bar open did you notice? I probably wouldn't bother with a cabin personally, but would probably book the lounge with the lie flat pods in it, assuming I was alone.

Denied Boarding Hovertravel Portsmouth to Ryde

I am slightly surprised that there isn't an agreement in place that Wightlink will take any Hovertravel (especially rail) ticket holders who arrived in time and physically unable to board the last hovercraft actually. They do work together when there's weather disruption and people are then...

"Trivia" Through stations with extremely few passenger trains which do not call

Which is helpful as I'm connecting onto TPE off it. Only missed the earlier train once!

"Trivia" Through stations with extremely few passenger trains which do not call

Every time I've used it, we've gone via Wakefield. Only used it about 5 times though, so that's not exactly the most representative sample I know.

"Trivia" Through stations with extremely few passenger trains which do not call

The last London-Leeds passes non stop, or certainly did in the previous timetable when I last used it. I've passed Birmingham International and Coventry on an Avanti divert before. Does anything skip Hexham, aside from LNER diverts? Not sure if Haymarket has been mentioned, but the Sleepers...

    NW/Baltic Interrail Trip

€5.90 for a pint on Viking Line btw :D

    NW/Baltic Interrail Trip

I did the Tallink ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki on Monday night. My head can certainly confirm it is a very good party boat! Think it was around €7 a pint, but not sure. The nightclub is open until 03:00, the views from it at this time of year are pretty good. Getting the Viking Line ship...

Bedford (Elstow) collision reporting by Daily Express: is this accurate or misleading?

The Daily Express on their FB article are claiming, or at least heavily implying, that the signal protecting the 810 was reverted. Is this just the writer assuming all signals are always green unless specifically changed, poor journalism, or something more significant?

Revenue blockades at stations NOT managed by their TOC

Exactly. It's not difficult! "Tickets please?" "I'm not travelling, my 90 year old Mum is on the train due from Glasgow in 5 minutes." "No problem. Come back to me and I'll let you both straight out." Or: "I've left my bag on the train from Liverpool yesterday, they said Lost Property is...

TOC share of an All Line Rover

They should do, given it's perfectly valid to use one in Standard. I'd imagine the percentage of All Line Rovers which get used on CrossRail, for example, to be fairly high. Likewise Chiltern, although they do now have 1st class again.

Report of collision Bedford (Elstow) - 19/06/26

Indeed. I spent a journey from Bristol to Exeter once wedged against my case, with a visually impaired passenger with a guide dog practically clinging onto my arm for dear life. I was on another that was so wedged I couldn't physically reach into my backpack which was on top of my feet.

I’m going to be the youngest person to visit all railway stations in Great Britain

That is very true, and I'm certainly not diminishing the suggestion. But I suspect the OP will quickly become known to staff as an enthusiast-I certainly did!

I’m going to be the youngest person to visit all railway stations in Great Britain

Fair. :D I can't relate to the latter point as I'm an only child. But I am a massive advocate of solo travel and doing what I want, when I want. I'm currently in 'Spoons in Glasgow about to start an Interrail Trip which will get me home in about 3 weeks. All solo and I've very little...

I’m going to be the youngest person to visit all railway stations in Great Britain

I spent a week doing most of the stations North of Inverness. Had done a handful previously, did the majority based out of Inverness on a week long trip.

I’m going to be the youngest person to visit all railway stations in Great Britain

Are you happy being on your own for many hours at a time and potentially far away from home?

I’m going to be the youngest person to visit all railway stations in Great Britain

Bit of a double edged sword if I'm honest... You make a plan as an under 18 and you have no real distractions, so do the stations you planned barring disruption. Then you turn 18 and you bail out somewhere and see a pub...:D

I’m going to be the youngest person to visit all railway stations in Great Britain

You say that now... :D Do you like your own company? That's a must for this kind of thing. Trust me!

You are arriving and leaving by train the way I suggested. For example: Bus Manchester-Denton Train Denton-Reddish South Train Reddish South-Denton Bus Denton-Manchester. I did it when it was Fridays only which was a lot more difficult as a teenager. I ended up travelling from Reddish South...

Revenue blockades at stations NOT managed by their TOC

"Hiya mate, am I alright to help my Mum onto the train?" "Course you can. She's travelling to Edinburgh. *beep*" 5 minutes later. "Hiya, just helped my Mum onto the train." "Yep, no problem, have a nice day." Or alternatively: "Sorry, I can't let you through without a ticket, but I'll...
