What the Uckfield line could really do with is electrification and re-opening to Lewis. The 171's are nice trains though.

I have noticed in the last few months that the platform canopy at West Drayton has been removed presumably in preparation for the electrification works? Does anyone know if they will be reinstated?

I'm sure that Twyford abbey (Park Royal) Guinness brewery in NW London had an internal railway system until the early 1990's. I think that 2 of their locomotives were ex BR 08's which have since gone to Cholsey.
