The TER PACA website mentions pertubations between St Raphael and Toulon in both directions due to a fire at Les Arcs and somekind of incident at Carnoules. This might explain it. Pertubations should drag into tomorrow.
I did Toronto-Niagra-Toronto on the Amtrak/Via train in 2017. Apart from 30min delay both ways all went well. I used a Wego day pass to get around in Niagra Falls.
Some ideas for the Toronto-Montreal route that I visited
Kingston: Nice town on the waterfront
Brockville: The old rail tunnel has...

VIA is at odds with Canadian National (CN) which owns most of the tracks VIA runs on. In autumn of 2024 CN imposed a minimum 32 axle requirement for certain routes citing issue with level crossings as the reason. The Venture trainsets do not meet the requirement (the have 24 axles irrc) and are...

It's always fun when you board a DB ICE to Brussels in Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and the whole "welcome on board this ICE..." is done in 4 languages, as it is followed directly by "we will shortly be arriving at Frankfurt Airport" in 4 languages :) .
In general, this is not correct: DB-issued saver through-tickets ("Sparpreis" etc.) bind you to the trains listed on the ticket in Switzerland as well, even if the "zugbindung" only lists the German trains.
Quoting from the DBs Special International Conditions of Carriage ("Besondere...

In Germany you might also take a different route in this case. For instance in ICE via the Highspeed line to Cologne instead of an originally planned IC...
