Will that be enough standard seating I wonder? A shame they can't won't add another standard carriage. With a dedicated restaurant and a full first class carriage that would make for a great continental style set up, or like the MKIVs were originally befire we did away with restaurant cars!
As a former resident of Huddersfield, born and bred, I consider this to be a particularly sick joke. I remember riding on a Pacer as a child with my Mum to see my Aunty in Sheffield via the Penisstone line when they swapped the previous generation of DMU for the tin can lorry. My Mum asked me...

If so the DfT have an obvious solution to Part 1 of Bribe the North (but don't actually spend too much darling - and make sure you call them new trains).
I am actually a reasonable fan of this project if they run to time properly in diesel mode and don't break down all the time a la ViVa.
That last paragraph is a little chilling! It also ignores the fact that no minority is asking for such a thing (as far as I am aware). If they were to take legal action a court would a range of remedies available to it and so those minorities, as we clumsily call people who are people, would...
How are services doing today? I am about to hire a car for the new year period as I need to visit my Mum in a hospice on a few of the days and I just can't place any trust whatsoever in the Northern or TPE services. It really is a shambles, with no contrition whatsoever from management or owners...
