It’s completely pointless having barriers you can so easily go over, under or through. It feels like a typical committee designed fudge to implement a revenue barrier but make it as easy as possible to avoid.

Aside from traincrew issues, I don’t think the through running beyond Hull helps with reliability. Much better to have the Yorkshire coast line as a self contained service - it would also allow the return of a properly spaced out 30 minute frequency.

Plus, Stagecoach Yorkshire and East Midlands have separate network wide day tickets available that are not valid on each others services, meaning the holder of one of those tickets can only use it on every other bus on the same route, despite them all being run by Stagecoach.
