Never been involved as railway staff but as I have a redundancy coming up in the new year I have applied. I can see some other threads mention revenue protection, the job page also mentioned this but the term "passenger host" is a bit ambiguous and sounds like just standing around greeting...
Hi
How long does it take for an ESR to be changed to a TSR, of ever / necessary?
My understanding was that if an ESR was still active by the next weekly operating notice, the ESR gets changed to a TSR and included in the WON.
But I've had a ESR dalek erected on my local line for weeks and it...
Open up a recent Hornby model and inside youll see this sticky black stuff (like bluetack but stronger and stickier) holding wires in place
I need to route some wires around one of my models along the inside of the roof and I recon something like that would be ideal
Anyone know what it's...
Over the years I've accumulated many triang dock shunters, one of which I wish to paint.
Can anyone suggest the recommended brand for paints when painting a locomotive, should I use a paint or spray?
I want it in a lightish shade of blue, a bit lighter than BR blue. I want a gimmicky version...
Lots of talk circulated around the uckfield branch around what locos are "allowed" and what locos aren't.
In the past I've seen 73s double headed/double tailed on autoballasters at Hurst green, with some people saying 66s aren't permitted.
Yet I've seen 66s on RHTT and there's even a video of...
can't make much sense of it myself such a confusing article . But apparently a freight train hit some deer on the uckfield branch last night , or at least that's what The Argus want us to think.
The incident happened at eridge, which the article claims is " in between uckfield and Tunbridge...
Just wondering if anyone has the luxury of travelling on the belmond Pullman to Brighton tomorrow for pride?
There are no timings whatsoever so far on websites. There was an ECS move to Newhaven a while back but it was deleted.
I reason to believe one of the locos is 67007.
Has anyone got any...
Planning to see the Nmt at Templecombe tomorrow for the sake of it.
But around 2 its supposed to do Salisbury to Westbury and back.
I have concerns it might not pull alongside the station as it's booked to use 'UR' at Westbury and I don't know if that's alongside the station or if it's towards...
Has anyone lost a bag at wolverton station?
Someone who knows me messaged me saying they found it and appeared to be one which could be owned by a trainspotter.
They tried to hand it in to police but he said they didn't seem to want to have anything to do with it, and that there was no...
Did anyone buy the EMR £14.99 brixies class 43 power car? Ordered mine last Wednesday so expecting it to be dispatched reasonably soon.
Wish I'd bought two now and have them back to back...
Anyones been dispatched yet? Are you happy with the quality?

Just wondering who I should call in the below instance? (I've reported it by direct message on twitter, they're yet to reply).
A rarely used metal crossing gate (for vehicles) near me on an industrial estate has been padlocked in the unlocked position therefore impossible to close it without a...
I've been approached by a gentleman who has lost one of his hands. He would like to implement on one of his wagons, an end of train flashing light.
The principal seems simple enough, an led wired to a DCC circuit, which also has terminals from track circuit collection.
Now, I've been DC all my...
A branch line society tour using southern 8/455.
Goes via billinghurst, Brighton (platform 2), Lewes and more.
https://branchline.uk/fixture_set_id.php?id=324
Looking for the cheapest option for a Saturday to do some of the south London network , mainly for 455s so that would be places like Norwood junction, anerley, tulse hill, London bridge, norbury etc.
My initial thoughts are just a standard zones 1-6 travel card, but is there anything cheaper...
Often on traksy, ott etc, you might see a route be set for another train over a junction, whilst the opposite train is still in the signal berth.
Example attached. 1Z08 is using the line on 9J26s path, 9J26 has the route set to platform one before 1Z08 has passed signal 621.
An example might...
Just seen some pictures on Facebook of what appears to be an engineer's train reversed through the buffers on one of the sidings at Doncaster.
I'm sure there's plenty to speculate about here (broken Walkie talky, brake problems, misjudgement etc) but obviously usual forum rules apply.
Looks...
Was out earlier at Moulsecoomb, and saw this compacted, mossy ballast. It's not just here, though, it's filthy at London Road (Brighton) as well.
At what point would ballast be considered life expired and need replacing?
It's been like this for months, if not several years now.
Finally a bit of decent action for Brighton, Newhaven, south coast.

66135 ran today's 6O13 Acton to Newhaven Marine Ag Tml today. Having got as far as plumpton before realising the Seaford branch was SHUT due to overrunning engineering works.
After a 20 min delay, 66135 finally got underway out of Lewes, via Glynde to Hampden Park.
The train dumped it's wagons...
