For a forthcoming visit to London, can someone tell me how easy it is to see what's inside Stagecoach depots in London (for numbers). Is it a waste of effort to go to any of them?

Might consider that in future. I use Ibis Stratford which is 5-10 minute walk from Stratford station so great for getting anywhere in London reasonably quickly. Also gives views of Heathrow landings if things are coming from the east. Usually around £70 a night for Accor All members.
I'll add Hawswater Dam Face just after Shap heading north. I only noticed it myself for the first time this year despite going up and down the West Coast since the 1970s!

The fare between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central or Glasgow Queen St is the same. Scotrail only has one return fare since the removal of peak restrictions. You can travel on any train.
