  • Hell yeh...I remember the "NIGHTRIDERS" well !!
    and yeh, They were always worked by "47's" (usually ones in the 47401-421 group)
    but sometimes "other ones" did make themselves known..also 47's from other areas, outside ECML region. ..which sometimes would give you the opportunity to ride behind "a rare one" !!
    and yes indeed, they were made up of "MK3 Stock"..& the seating carriages were illuminated with "a sort of NEON BLUE" lighting system...which was very nice indeed !!
    I used to ride the EAST COAST ones,,back in the 80's...& Mostly used "1S42" 10:45pm from K.X. to York...& returned on "1E44" when returning to London...Thgey were absolutely great to ride on...& wish that ones like these still ran today !!
