At least some E400s were still in use on Metrolink as well on Sunday, although 40820/36/37 were also in use.

March 2027 is the change over, so unlikely to be the reason.

The stored single deck BZLs are 12m so actually worse around the 382 than the deckers. A route test was done when the first ones were delivered.
Ashton was originally due to have 8 single decks, 6 BZLs (VMS361-6) and 2 E200s (DEM481/2). The BZLs for the 7 and the E200s for the 382. As we know, plans were changed.

Hyde Road currently has around 125 diesels, so not enough EVs on order to replace them, never mind to move other EVs out.

The original schools linked to the 382 could be operated with baby E200s.

Yes I was wrong, 4 smaller BZL’s (same size as the freebus examples) have been ordered for Ashton and should arrive around Christmas time apparently.

The 388 will apparently interwork with the 389 so I doubt they will use smaller buses as the 389 has good loadings, but two will certainly be for the 382 which is constantly being diverted due to badly parked cars.
Not sure on how many buses are moving over as yet.

If I was to guess how many BZLs are moving over I would say between 8 and 10 but I could be wrong

In other news there are now 17 Streetdecks at Oldham and they could enter service very soon
Apparently according to a post on Facebook there's a number of new Wright Electroliners awaiting entry into service at Oldham Depot now, it looks like they'll be entering service as soon as either later this month or at the start of next month considering how well driver familiarisation is going at the moment.

Seems to be some confusion over who owns what when it comes to the small franchise contracts.
Rotala owner Simon Dunn has suggested on another forum they belong to the TFGM vehicle pool, yet a press statement from ADL some time ago suggests they were ordered by Rotala and not TFGM.
It can’t be as clear cut as the small contract operator owning all vehicles because as we know several Mellor’s passes from Stagecoach (Queens road), over to Diamond, and some from First Rochdale also passed to Go North west (Denton depot).
It does beg the question who actually owns what, and will the E200 MMC’s running out of Diamonds Bolton depot pass over to Go North west next March.

Bolton Electroliner 2118 has been given some extra TfGM branding for a "Buses but Better" campaign. It is now in service following a photoshoot yesterday.
The former Metroline E200MMCs that were at Wigan (4153/4) have been withdrawn and have passed back to TfGM, whilst two Bolton Electorliners were inspected by Metroline yesterday for imminent transfer, numbers tbc.

The accounts for Diamond Bus North West Ltd say that the vehicles are owned by Diamond (albeit being financed on hire purchase).
I suspect there will be something in the franchise contract that allows TfGM to buy the vehicles at the end of the contract at an agreed price (I think I have seen references to the residual value mechanism before). I suspect the contracts for the next operator (in this case Go NW) will have an obligation to buy said vehicles for this price.

So were the Mellors that moved over from stagecoach (Queens road) purchased by Diamond or have they remained part of the TFGM vehicle pool, which I’m assuming some vehicles still do hence Simon Dunns reference to ‘some’ belonging to TFGM.
As I say it’s confusing.

Looks like it's had a fresh coat of paint as well, the only Electroliner to be redone into those colours.

It hasn't been repainted, just cleaned up. The wheels were however repainted silver.
Correct me if I'm wrong but rare working yesterday saw Oldham Depot E300 27947 doing the honours on a late running 10:59 350 Oldham-Ashton service then when it got to Ashton instead of continuing whatever it was meant to do it was swapped onto 409 & 17s, while a E300s operate 409s & 17s semi regular these days I don't think they often get onto 350s.
Not to sure how true this is but I have heard that some of Oldham's new buses could enter service as early as next week with some early MMC400s possibly being transferred to Stockport Depot, also heard that some of Oldhams Volvo's are off to Hull for further service.

I see the 575 is being upgraded to have deckers on the route from the changes at the end of August, i remember when Blue Bus had deckers on the 575 being mixed with single deckers even well after Arriva bought Blue Bus, think Arriva replaced the deckers with the sapphire Pulsars which then interworked the 362 now 632.

Currently a lot of the 575 trips do use deckers, with a few E200MMCs mixed in, but with an overall frequency decrease to Wigan*, i wouldnt be surprised seeing all deckers on the Wigan trips and Single decks on the Blackrod short runs
*Bolton - Blackrod will be every 15 minutes (4bph) with 2bph extending to Wigan

Seems Oldham were having problems this evening, the number 83 bus services will be cancelled until after 9pm this evening due to operational issues on the route. There is ticket acceptance in place on tram services on the Rochdale via Oldham line.
Whether the above is down do vehicle issues I'm not to sure but it can't be down to Vandalism as I was on 19:12 182 and we went normal route out of Manchester.

I heard on Facebook that the Electroliners were rushed into Service today instead of Monday 17th, due to a power cut meaning the other buses had low charge. Wouldn't be surprised with the 83 always using electrics, but I think something really needs to be done about Oldham, whether it's large backup generators, electricity banks or more reliable chargers, because I don't even have first hand experience with their issues but I feel sorry for people in Oldham who have to deal with this, when they want the fleet to be fully electric along with Bolton and Hyde Road very very soon, but keep introducing EV buses without reliable charging equipment.

Ultimately it’s down to TFGM to resolve with national grid and the charger manufacturers/installers.
I suspect it’s probably down to the weather and the fact every electric bus has probably had the A/C on full whack in the drivers cab meaning by lunchtime vehicle battery ranges were down to 30% instead of the normal 50/60%.

Yeah yesterday was very hot, I think it got to 34 degrees outside yesterday, so bus drivers would've been roasting
