There was a vintage vehicle meet at the SVR station at Kidderminster today, amid the steam tractors was this lovely Austin 16

Sunday afternoon: four scalps in four miles...
En route back from a country market, the 4 miles between Lindford and Grayshott yielded:

1) Silver Renault R5 Turbo (the original 1980-1984 model, with huge air intake ahead of rear wheels), complete with large blue TURBO decals along bodyside.

2) Oatmeal-coloured Ford Granada Mk1 coupe.

3) Scarlet Triumph TR6.

4) Yellow Triunph Stag.

Oh not forgetting, on our way to farmers' market, at Sheet (it's just north of Petersfield), a red Rover SD1 Vitesse, in immaculate condition.

I bet that the colour was not called ‘Oatmeal’ in the Ford brochure of the time!

I used to get a ride to school in one of those, albeit Black, 1983/Y reg. (neighbour’s, sadly, not my parents’).

All i can remember was a very wide dasboard with loads of dials.

My first car was a 1986/D 2600. At 6' 6" my options were limited and the SD1 prices, at that time, were rock bottom.
5 year-old car with 50k miles and FSH, for a grand.
That was the same shade of red as today's Vitesse - "Targa Red" in Rover Group parlance!

Spotted an early TVR heading into Sainsbury's car park this afternoon. I saw it sideways on, so I didn't read the plate, but I was surprised just how short it was compared with their later models. It had the cut-off tail and circular mk1 Cortina rear lights that immediately said Tuscan to me, but I haven't found an image of that version to confirm it (or not) since TVR re-used the name for different models. It did sound very rorty!

Huddersfield Sainsbury's was graced with the presence of this Packard on Monday afternoon (10th August):

Which rather overshadowed this Benz:

Panhard, not Packard.
I'll blame the silly fancy writing! When it initially drove past I thought "that looks French" but couldn't read the badging as anything other than Packard. Once my brain decided that's what it said, that was it!

Looking again it's quite obviously Panhard on the front, so I was clearly just having a brain-fart.

That Talbot looks very tidy. Considering the M-plate it's carrying, it must have been one of the last to be produced.
