Does anyone know if the GA 720s in the new livery are only operating on the west anglia side or might we see them over on the great eastern?

I’ve seen 720501 on the Southend branch this week so they are being used on the Eastern side.

I caught a glimpse of a GBR unit today. I didn’t see more because I was watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer on my tablet. There's a joke here somewhere.

Where do you stand on trains being branded as Thameslink or Southern? Or more locally, when Stansted Express stock was branded separately?

There were 158's running around the South West in full Ginsters Pasty livery 15 years ago, I don't recall the world crashing down around us then either...

Wasn't it said a while ago that individual operating units of DfTO had to earn the right to use the GBR name and livery? Has that been quietly forgotten?

On a slightly different subject, there is a big electronic poster ad for GBR at Tiverton Services on the M5 at the moment (next to Tiverton Parkway station). The thing is, only Cross Country and GWR serve Tiverton Parkway, and they are both currently still privately operated.

Always seemed a strange approach, when you consider how poor Northern can be and they have been a GBR operation in all but name for years.

Yeah, that was the idea, but I imagine that's been forgotten because it's totally ridiculous and would lead to certain brands sticking around years after GBR actually exists and isn't DFTO anymore.

It was also a ridiculous idea because despite the UK Government and the London based media pretending otherwise, GBR will not exist as a single brand across the entirety of Britain.
By that logic, it would be explained to the public that TfW, ScotRail, the Bee Network, TfL, and any other devolved operators, are not branded as GBR because they are not good enough.

Why is it going to Kings Lynn?
Theres been a load of 387 379 pantographs damaged on gn units and they cant figure out whats causing it.
The normal train they use for inspecting the overheads is out of action so they used the Ga unit as it has a camera unit on it that can do a similar job.

I rode my first train with the new livery today. 720144, coupled with 720536 in the older Greater Anglia livery. :D

It was heading to London Liverpool Street.20260812_094140.JPG20260812_094135.JPG20260812_093208_1.JPG20260812_094231.JPG

I'm intrigued as to what will happen to the classic L&SE (ex-NSE) map when GBR takes charge. Will a design more than 30 years old continue under the new order?
Not quite sure although that’s possibly one for another thread.

701006 hasn't been out for nearly a week, and the other specially-liveried 701 (701060, in lehgoland branding) for almost as long

Rode on 357008 tonight; no real interior changes to that unit, but I've not been on c2c for a while.

Looks pretty smart though.
