Well that's news to me, I was at a town show in Newton-le-Willows yesterday and there was representatives from the LCR for the Metro franchising and I saw that there will be 110 buses stationed at St. Helens.
Also aren't St. Helens already getting 14 E400MMCs from Gillmoss?

Surly they be getting some small buses for the 106 replacement such as sprinters to get around Vale Park, Dalmorton Road etc in New Brighton only small solos and sprinters can get around due to parking etc

Well if the new 405/6 which replaces the current 106 is still going same way via Grosvenour Road, Dalmoreton road, Kirkland Rd, Vaughan Road, Magazine Ln, Holland Rd, Haydock Rd and Heartford Road then a front wheeled small bus is needed hence why if you look back over years its always been solos, streetlite WF's or Sprinters around there depending on previous operators

I wonder if this might be the new HTL livery? If so, it would be good to know what an HTL bus looks like instead of the present offering of all red, blue and white, green, and off-white! Hopefully when the fleet is repainted and gained fleet numbers as South Wales Transport have done, it will emphasise the new ownership of Tower Transit.
Arriva have had most of their new vehicles over the past year or so delivered in Metro livery.
Arriva probably thought they were going to win part of the franchise, but now face the cost of repainting them when or before next September.

Arriva can still win a depot, I have been told by a few Arriva drivers that Arriva are focused on keeping the Speke depot.
Wasn't this more or less what we expected - that at least to begin with, things would remain much the same while the new owners worked out quite what they had taken on?The timetables for the 10/10a have been published. The timetable does not seem to be very radical compared to what already exists commercially. I also don't like how they retained the model that to prevent dead running, they run shorts for the last few trips of the day which the Bee Network has avoided for some core routes with buses running end to end in both directions in the early hours after midnight.
