Stations with through platforms where non-stopping passenger carrying trains are rare...

Meaning that most passenger trains do indeed stop?

On that basis, I'll go with Warrington Central.

There must be loads of such stations.

Up round my part of the world, I think stockport only sees about one non-stop passenger train per day and Manchester picadilly only sees them during Engineering works.

Not sure I totally understand the question but virtually every passenger train seems to stop at Haymarket. Think it's only the sleeper trains that don't stop. Surely not a terribly rare situation though. Especially on remote lines, although some may be by request.
Platform 0 at Haymarket is a terminus so the station isn't entirely comprised of through lines, but it's rarely used.

I would presume on medium-frequency lines running between towns, there are countless stations which apply. If you have a 2tph service, 'core' stations i.e. those central to significant towns will be called at by all trains. Equally, on metro services, all trains will stop everywhere potentially.

Leicester. The up Master Cutler used to be booked nonstop through but I don’t think anything is now.

There used to be an often quoted 'fact' regarding Stockport; that the viaduct was only granted planning permission on the proviso that every passenger train across it would stop at Stockport, in perpetuity.

Fairly sure it's been debunked in recent years though.

Potentially some on diversion when WCML is blocked such as the current bridge collapse between Rugby and Nuneaton.
Assuming they are routed via Birmingham New Street and not being sent on the common detour of Bescot.

Regarding Stockport, I could swear around 2014/15 there used to be an hourly XC service which didn't stop at Stockport heading towards Bristol (might have also skipped Stafford as well).

Cancelled
Waterloo East and London Bridge, with the latter only having one: 2L17 0826 Cannon Street - Dartford via Lewisham.

Stations which count could have only through platforms OR a mixture of through platforms and terminating bays.
Virtually every train which uses the through platforms stops but there are the very odd exceptions which don't. Haymarket mentioned above is a very good example where the few "sleepers" run through non-stop and virtually everything else stops.
Non-stopping because of being on a diversion e.g. to get round a line blockage/engineering works also count as long as the trains are carrying passengers.

Indeed.

Think I slightly missunderstood in my above examples.

Three Bridges? Skipped by Gatex and Victoria-Ores only I think.

EDIT: better idea - Gatwick Airport.

look to be the only non-stops

That's what I was thinking of regarding the debunking of the 'fact' (myth may be a better word).
Didn't realise it was that long back, I confess that "recent years" was doing a bit of heavy lifting!

I don't think there are any services timetabled to miss Bromley South.

Not sure I'd agree that London Bridge meets the criteria since Thameslink will run non-stop through overnight.

Aren't they via Aston though?

During diversions it's quite common to skip Bromley South (usually when Petts Wood-Hither Green is shut), but in the normal timetable yes it does have everything call (pre-2008 Eurostar skipped and some peak services were non-stop Victoria-Chatham).

Exeter St Davids and Plymouth have pretty much everything, even almost every railtour calls here. The closest Exeter SD comes to being skipped is the 12:03 Paddington-Penzance being pickup only here on an otherwise non-stop leg.

Nah, you’re right to go Gatwick over Three Bridges. Three Bridges has 6tph non stop each way, giving 12 in total.

I’d also add Polegate, Falmer, Bexhill, St Leonards Warrior Square, Hastings, Horsham, Crawley, Havant, Chichester and Barnham.

Is York a contender - wondering if there is still anything non-stop between Newcastle and King's Cross - or when the sleepers are diverted ECML if they slip through without stopping?

Lumo services on the ECML routinely don't call at York.

I think I once worked out that Stoke-on-Trent is the largest city which has at least one train per day which does not call at the 07:00 service does not call. The largest place where there is at least 1 train per hour that passes through at least 1 station that does not call every hour is Milton Keynes. The largest place that the majority of trains do not stop but pass through at least one station is Tamworth.

Dalmuir currently has 3 non-stop passenger services on Monday-Friday, all of them West Highland services.

These are:

The long-standing 1Y20 from Oban, which instead calls at Singer

1Y23 due to insufficent platform length, it usually being booked as a 7 car formation

1Y48, the other 7 car WHL service which is actually booked to stop there, but this is unadvertised, is for pathing purposes only and is just as likely to sail right through; this service is also currently being routed via Yoker, Hyndland/Partick, Queen St Low Level, Bellgrove, Duke Street & Springburn between Dalmuir and Queen St High Level during this short-term alterted WTT schedule for reasons I can't quite ascertain

Not sure this counts on the basis that everything calls there

A good example, although as you know nowadays everything in the WTT does stop there, but during engineering some do run through non stop, for example upcoming XC Diverts and the odd EMR (one of which I did from Derby to Bedford with no stops)
