Dear all,
thank you very much for your replies.. one thing i forgot to mention is that i suffer from a chronic illness so its hard for me to walk around too much. Cycles are out of the question. I guess the best option is really to stick with the 1-4 travel card as the best other option of...
Hi all,
Just looking for some advice from the experienced members here. Currently i commute to work 5 days a week from Beckenham Junction to Baker st. I do this by taking a train to Victoria from Beckenham and then I take either the number 2 or 82 bus to george st (which is opposite my office...
Hi MikeWh
Thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately i think st johns wood would be a bit too far of a walk to get to baker st. Its No 1 baker st so the end furthest away from baker st station.
If i did the luton to west hampstead season at £3224 per year then id have to add the cost of...
This seems like the best option for now.. until i decide to move out of luton and closer to london. But then the cost of housing and living go up! What a dilemma. Cheers guys.
Thank you knowledgeable people! I guess im still trying to find the cheapest way to get to work in baker st from Luton. I might just go to st pancras using my current ticket then just take the bus to baker st. It cost me £1.40 on my payg oyster and took 20 mins. Its cheaper than the tube.
Dear all,
Im hoping for some advice. As far as i understand, I should be eligible to use all zones london buses using my yearly season ticket from Luton to London Thameslink. I have attached a copy of the ticket.
However today when I wanted to take the bus from St pancras to Baker St, the...
Those are excellent points to consider tsr. Thank you for pointing them out, as we didnt think about that. As far as we know, she will be based in the baker st campus as she is doing a business degree. But its wise, to wait until she gets her full timetable of classes before making any purchases...
We both thank you sooo much for these responses and ideas! Just fyi.. I went to ask this question at Luton station and didnt really get anywhere. To be honest there was a queue of people waiting to buy tickets with only one counter open so the guy wasnt really too interested in having a...
Thanks for the mega fast replies everyone! She is on a 3 year course, not just 1 term and her classes are variable. Some days her first class is at 9am, and others at 12pm.. Wednesdays she has no classes at all.
Thats why theres a bit of confusion on what the best solution is. (financially)...
Hi all
I am here to ask all you helpful folk for some advice on behalf of my 19 yr old cousin who is moving here from America. She will be staying with family in Luton but will start her degree at Westminster uni which is in Baker St tube stop.
She will be taking the train to farringdon from...
Interesting point Soil and thanks for this useful info. I didnt think about slot availability. I have checked on the barclays bike app and at around 8.30am it always shows 0 bikes available at the st johns wood stand for both yesterday and today. So unless i get there at 5am then i dont think...
Thanks CheapAndNerdy and everyone else for the clarification on why i shouldnt buy monthly tickets. That does make perfect sense now, although im still going to try and get the yearly season ticket loan from work. Unfortunately the maximum they will provide is £3000 and I need a bit more than...
Hi all,
Sorry for the late reply. Have been so busy with work handing things over ready for my new job. I really appreciate everyone who took the time to help me out and just want to say all of you have been so helpful with your suggestions. Im really touched!
I think after considering all...
Wow Causton, quite a good suggestion there. £280 for a 4 week ticket with them which is excellent! However trying to find a timetable for them is proving to be a pain on their site. I live fairly close to their stop in luton too so this would be good. I do worry about getting stuck in traffic...
