It's a shame they dismantled most of the old footbridge/booking office - it could have been a Travellers Fare theme pub (including Cadburys hot chocolate machine)!

-Cask ale (obviously) including always a light ale between 4 and 4.5%
-Ideally outdoor seating on the platform to watch the trains
-If music 60's/70's/80's (or a good juke box)

At least you knew when the blue/white day was - and of course, you always had the option of off-peak.
Ultimately dynamic pricing is a con trick that shouldn't be allowed - without a reasonably priced off-peak fare that people can rely on.
I hope this isn't heading in that direction.

Ordinary members of the public need their fares to be affordable. That's as true in wealth generating areas such as Manchester and Cambridge as it is everywhere else. The best new railway in the world won't fulfil its potential if its a rich man's toy.
