Yes, my mate used to occasionally take a wheeled flightcase on a bus with stage tech equipment in it. The drivers knew him, and would put the wheelchair ramp down for him to wheel it on.
I remember being on an Arriva Yorkshire 118 (Wakey - Leeds), and about 30 yards of road at Carr Gate junction was being resurfaced so we had to go down the M62 to the next junction and back up again to the other side of the closure.
5.2 mile diversion for a 30 yard road closure.

I was on it at Oxenhope when it failed. Compressor, I believe.
It took about 50 minutes for 50021 to get to Oxenhope for the rescue on a clear line. I was watching on Railcam, and saw it sat in Damems loop for about 20/25 minutes.
I really agree with the windscreen blowers comment. They really annoy me on E400 MMCs. They're at a frequency and volume that really starts to hurt my ears.
I'm ok with that, I don't see it as inaccurate, outdated or insulting. Just observational. Though I know there is of course a percentage of football fans who are not alcoholic, testerone-charged tattooed loonies, and that's cool.
