    Yes I believe it is. Grand Central are an Open Access operator and don't have a ticketing agreement with LNER.

    We could use them down here in Yorkshire & Derbyshire if the Scots don't want them. Up to 10 bikes regularly carried on Hope Valley trains.

    We were on the Trans-Pennine from Manchester to Sheffield that day. Absolutely heaving 6-car train and ran very slowly between M/C and New Mills.     AFAIK the only Northern service you can get a cup of tea on is the Settle to Carlisle, where the trolley is run by the Friends.

    Given the current government’s preference for publicly owned services, perhaps link the cap to a move towards public ownership i.e. start the process and you can keep the cap?

    Anyone know what a Northern DMU would be doing on the freight line from Walton to Monk Bretton (West & South Yorkshire) yesterday? Crew training perhaps? Just interested - we were cycling the TPT alongside and spotted it.
