A First Bus double deck bus has had it's roof ripped off trying to pass under a low railway bridge in Macphail Drive, Kilmarnock. Bridge clearly signed as 8ft-3in. clearance. Article on the Beeb news website does not say anything about injuries.
I've just been watching a short but sweet video of Manx Electric car No.32 in service at Port Jack. It looks to have a carbon skid fitted rather than the traditional brass/phosphor-bronze trolley wheel. Is the M.E.R. "carbonising" the whole fleet, or is this just a one-off ?
An old Ford Popular (sit up and beg variety) I had used the same system. It worked on manifold depression. When you put your foot down on the accelerator the wipers slowed right down - or stopped! On an even throttle or overrun they worked ok (ish)
