The part here that bothers me is that the TOC / ITAL can't seem to check Railcard validity themselves. I know the onus is on the holder of the railcard to show they have it but asking for bank statements as proof of purchase from a reasonable time back seems disproportionate when you'd expect...
The prospect of a 'bad actor' doing this with inpunity at Liverpool Street seems a little implausible. It's a busy station yet it's quite compact so either this behaviour is non-existent or 'known' and/or 'tolerated' by colleagues (for whatever reasons) would be my immediate thoughts. If the...
Will be interesting to see how Witham copes with ticket barriers as it's basically a station built on a footbridge. I don't see any obvious ways enough gates could be squashed into the available space to cope with the levels of passengers leaving evening trains that have left London. There's no...
Also agree with this. There seems to be some strange 10 v 5 car diagrams throughout the day which I've always assumed is down to lack of units to strengthen the service but then this thread suggests otherwise. Surely the better use is to put all the units to work before anyone thinks about...
One thing I'm idly curious about is whether there is an actual increase in passenger numbers at Liverpool St now that the Elizabeth line is there or is it just the method of arrival that has changed (ie more journeys now seen as being on National Rail vs TfL)
I'm sure it matters little when it...
Looking at National Rail for a ticket from Chelmsford to Tottenham Court Road (Elizabeth line), there is a valid fare for which the itinerary has a change at Stratford.
Some questions:
Would the ticket be valid to change at Liverpool Street? (I assume the itinerary suggests Stratford as the...
I've had this happen to me a few times over the years and seen numerous other people claim the same issue. The default response from the train captains seems to be to ask people to hop off at the next stop and tap in properly. I assume that's because you're likely still in the same zone so...
Hmm.. let's not forget that Boots is precisely the kind of business that thinks it's ok to push up prices of anti-histamines when seasonal rhinitis peaks. They may also offer 3-for-2 offers at the same time which means the price isn't necessarily higher if you take up the offer but there's...
Greater Anglia's website has an Advance Tickets banner on the front page (you'll have to scroll down a fair way) but no explanation.
Our cheapest Advance tickets are available up to Friday 31st October 2025, except for Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September 2025.
There also seems to be a lack of info on car parking. I can see it's split into two separate spaces, one run by the local council with charges of £10.50 a day and labelled the 'premium' car park.
The other, larger car park seems not to have any management or pricing info published as yet.
Possibly due to engineering works on the day and maybe some planned works not finalised as yet.
GA already have this noted:
Saturday, 6 September 2025 to Sunday, 7 September 2025
