National Express - If the first leg wasn't caught, will the ticket still be valid?

Technically not as per their conditions of carriage. However, it's worth a try as I don't see anyone having a problem with it.

    Penalty Fared at Wendover

Do I have a legal right to the fare which I already paid? I should add that I have a disabled railcard but wasn't offered that discount.

    Penalty Fared at Wendover

Back in 2021 I got a penalty fare at Wendover station for chancing that I'd be able to just buy onboard the train since I didn't notice the Penalty Fare signs at Wendover. I appealed and to my great surprise, I won and the Penalty Fare was cancelled. I raised this cogent point with Chiltern...

    Failed to pay fare

That's true, you should always get everything in writing from any company. They might change their mind!

Doors opened wrong side at Wigan

I'd hope that the driver can get on with it ASAP. What if he needed to release the doors in the event of an emergency? Some trains e.g. GA Class 317s don't even have an Emergency Door Release for passenger use on both sides of the train. Not safe IMO.

Trivia: Stations on our railway network which are closed but the platforms still exist.

I thought Newhaven Marine still had platforms there, although the station has been de facto closed for some time.

Norwich station by was of comparison used to have separate queues for "tickets for today", and "other enquiries" in the ticket office, as well as a help point. It didn't used to have a counter for "travellers without tickets" (as it is known in Spain). Nowadays it has a single queue in the...

Why is the stopping Cambridge - Kings Cross service branded Thameslink and not Great Northern?

But the GN 700 services are fast services, and therefore belong under the Great Northern brand, not the Thameslink one.

    SWR DOO Dispatch Methods

Interesting, which dispatch method is used at these stations, and why not CD/RA?

Another lorry through the barriers at Manningtree

I believe it's at least 27 seconds at an AHB crossing, with a limited exception.

Another lorry through the barriers at Manningtree

You're wrong in part. A non-emergency vehicle cannot pass red lights under any circumstances unless directed by a Police officer. Even if they need to allow an emergency vehicle through. Red flashing lights also cannot be passed by emergency vehicles, or by a Police officer, or any person...

Using data from apps like Trainline as part of fare evasion prosecutions

But is the evidence admissible? If not, then this needs addressing at court.

    Strangest bus destination screens?

    I would've done too. LOL!

Your longest time spent on a bus or coach?

When I was a young kid at about 8 years old, I remember once travelling to Disneyland Paris and back by coach from Norwich. However I've also done a school trip to Belgium in Year 9 which was even longer, which was all way from Hethersett to Ypres and back by coach.
