Doors didn’t open at Finsbury Park and was issued a witness statement receipt

I checked more precise industry systems in post #82 and the more precise recorded dwell is 29 seconds (which on TD ie RTT etc will round to a quarter minute, in this case therefore indicating 15 seconds). This is not implausible, multiple southbound services (ie, likely busier ones at that time...

Doors didn’t open at Finsbury Park and was issued a witness statement receipt

If the doors didn't open at all, sure. But we haven't had evidence that is the case yet. It's probably better to establish that and get any potential procecution quashed first.

How can Trainline offer e-tickets for routes without E-ticket availability, such as advance tickets between CBG and ZFD?

For future, some TOC websites, including Crosscountry, Northern Trains and Scotrail, are white-label sites powered by Trainline, and should be able to sell you these as etickets without ever charging a booking fee. Scotrail's app also offers split tickets. I've checked a future date for...

Doors didn’t open at Finsbury Park and was issued a witness statement receipt

If no one operated the doors (which would align with OP's observations that no one else got on/off) then the cycle can be done very quickly, because the door interlock will be achieved immediately and a 700 can accelerate away very quickly. I have checked a station dwell time monitoring tool...

    Staff Travel Stripped after Mistake.

Travelling to a workplace is still business duty travel. I would argue if this is indeed a fully remote job, contracted at home, OP's company should have been paying for the journey in the first place in order for them to go and collect the laptop. Indeed my TOC employer regularly has to buy my...

Break of Journey along Elizabeth Line

I have never had problems at Farringdon or Moorgate-end of Liverpool Street, presumably due to to long-standing other National Rail services at those stations. I have had issues at other core stations however, particularly Whitechapel. I generally find Ealing Broadway accommodating. I find they...

GTR Station Manager - Recruitment Questions

It should be fine, it's just a process they have to go through. My new TOC's medical took over a month to come back and I have no health issues or referals! They prefer managers to be safety critical (they will likely get you dispatch competency, for example, if they can) but even if you fail...

    PRIV tickets on Lizzie Line

I wasn't aware of this and it's interesting to note. Although the example from the East contradicts itself regarding Liverpool Street as an end point... It has been suggested on other groups that perhaps tickets such as Slough - Zone U1* London would be valid as long as the Underground itself...

GTR Station Manager - Recruitment Questions

Congratulations! Back when I was in the role at GTR, smart trousers and shirt was fine. Pre-covid I would wear a tie - I ditched it as soon as I started going in again and I basically never wore one again. I'd agree with smart trousers/shoes, shirt and tie initially and you can always remove it...

GTR Station Manager - Recruitment Questions

I think that's just some railway cynicism creeping in. It's a final salary scheme from start at GTR (some TOCs and Network Rail you can only enter the final salary scheme after a qualifying period, normally 2 years). Probably the "for now" is more about a general cynicism that the final salary...

Northumberland Line fares (including impact on Tyne & Wear Metro maximum fares)

There has been an issue with the readers. At the moment try to use another reader (the ones at either end of the platform seem to work). If you are having problems at all of them I would recommend snapping a photo of the issue just to cover yourself, however it is known about and being worked on.

Refund policy - Avanti West Coast asking for a "Medical report" for an Unused off peak return

As previously said: Avanti are known to waive admin fees and/or give a refund on usually non-refundable advance tickets where such evidence is provided and it is probably just a mistake around that. As long as your ticket was refundable, just...

Refund policy - Avanti West Coast asking for a "Medical report" for an Unused off peak return

Avanti are known to waive admin fees or give a refund on usually non-refundable advance tickets where such evidence is provided. I suspect this is an error or confusion by their customer service around that. If you are not refunding for a reason like that I would just reply stating that you...

Veterans Railcard as part of a group booking

That doesn't make the tickets you have valid. Whilst I suspect you will get away with it, if it does result in extra charges I wish you luck in dealing with Trainline's notorious customer services for getting that refunded, keeping in mind they have already given you incorrect information.
