Yes, I was working at Dawlish station on that day when the CIS announced it as a three-car. I ended up keeping a copy of the RTT log at the time. Seems it was only 5 minutes late into Paddington! I believe it also ran the return run in passenger service.
The 0600 1C55 from Paddington to Penzance via Bristol is a bit of an odd one. Calls at Bridgwater, misses Totnes, then when in Cornwall it calls at the likes of Saltash, St Germans and Lostwithiel, but doesn’t stop at Par.
I often see one at the Arriva traincare depot in Bristol, plus there was one at the sidings near Goonbarrow signal box on the Newquay line when I went through earlier this year.
