    I wasn't able to go but Sussex Police said that there were between 30,000 and 40,000 people there - this was quite a bit lower than last time 5th November fell on a Saturday.

    It depends on the type of wheelchair. On my wife's wheelchair only the person pushing/pulling can apply the brakes.

    Yes - there is a 'private' gate at the end of the down platform which can only be used if you are going to the hotel. Is this the most recently built hotel with a dedicated access to a station?

    This was briefly looked at a few years ago but quickly rejected because of the huge capital cost, loss of capacity to/from Charing Cross and the relatively small benefit of through services between Kent and SWT land.

    I think the Newhaven Boat Trains were 12CEP + MLV in their heyday. Later became a 4 CIG attached/detached from a London train at Lewes.
